Disappointing that it was fixed in 6 days. You have to hand it to M$ though. Having spent a lot of time in the Xbox Modding community I can certainly vouch for the poor security of the original Xbox. Though in all honesty I certainly hope we’ll be able to exploit the 360 in a similar fashion.

The 360 is already completely hacked for pirate copies. But your safe from people editing those copies to cheat so far. And for the people below that think the modified DVD bios hacks don’t work on XBL you are very mistaken. The copy can’t be modified though it has to be an exact duplicate or the sign will be bad. So the hackers can’t change the game code for cheating yet.

Like I said in the article, if the kernel is hacked, it could open up booting unsigned discs… so with modified code.

It’ll be damn hard to get on Live though with a hacked kernel, I doubt whether they’ll get that done anywhere soon.

Seems very resonable indeed. Personally, I feel the same way as El Scorpio, and most people do as well. If you feel the need to defend your cheating, that says only one thing: “I feel guilty about it.”

besides that, once any of the game data on the game disc is modified it breaks the signiture and not playable. Also, think about how the xbox 1 was…your box would be banned from xbl if you connected w/ a non retail kernel. If anything ever comes from this hack, you won’t need to worry about cheating on live, that is anymore than there is now.
