It’s been quite a while since everyone got their hands on Stuntman, way back in 2002. It was met with mixed reactions: some loved it, others couldn’t stand it. Some labelled it as a game that was just thrown out while PS2 fans awaited the next Driver game, whilst others admitted they enjoyed it. A sequel, as announced way back last February (2006), is being produced and IGN have got hold of some new screens and a trailer.

Once again you will be required to pull off ludicrous stunts with some tip-top driving skills to create action-packed film sequences. Pulling off stunts to perfection will reward you with a career that takes you all over the world. This time around though, there is much more to do, including some multiplayer activities.

The multiplayer will feature up to eight players. You will be able to challenge other stuntmen with the opportunity to steal stunts from them in multiplayer arenas. A stunt toolkit is included too, so you can plot your own movie stunt scenes and see if anyone online can stand up to the challenge you set them. According to IGN though, how the online mode works exactly is still unknown at this time.

There will be a total of twenty five cars available to drive, including sports cars, hovercrafts and motorcycles. At some point or another, you will use all of them to perform one of the 36 stunt runs available, taking place in six different themed films and commercials.

It’s warming up and sounding good. Check out the little teaser trailer here, which states at the end that the game will be shipping in the Summer of this very year.
