Dead Rising to get Xbox Live co-op?
Yesterday we reported to you that EGM is claiming that Gears is getting some DLC soon and that Epic want to make changes to the achievements. Today, we have another EGM rumour for you this time concerning Capcom’s Dead Rising. If EGM are correct, you had better go get a friend and get ready to kill some zombies in co-op over Xbox Live.
In this month’s EGM, they rumour that when the platinum version of the zombie killing third person action game is released, it will include the option to play co-op with your friends via Xbox Live. They also state that this addition to the game would be available via the marketplace for those who bought the game when it was first released. However, it would unfortunately have to be paid for.
Does Dead Rising still interest you or did your love for it die with the zombies? Or did you do what I did and only rent the game because of the text that is impossible to read on SDTVs? Even if you do still enjoy killing a couple of zombies, would you pay for a feature that could be included in a platinum version at no extra cost?

but would be good cos i find the aim system horrible i play aim inverted dont ask me why i just do always have so its not inverted so i cannot really do it but would make killing psychos a lot easier too
the idea is good…but why the hell should people (like me and millions others) who got the game when it came out and made capcoms day by making the game sell so bloody well, why should we have to pay? the game wouldnt even have been going platinum if it wasnt for all the people who already have it…so yeah..in my opinion…not fair, the game went platinum…thank us for it! dont charge us for making you happy capcom!!!
though in retrospect, microsoft always want to charge for content..so it could be down to them…like the whole arguements between MS and Epic over free content for gears..
Its could end up cheaper to trade in the old copy and buy a new one. But that does suck for anyone who has already bought the game

I sold the game long ago.
I can’t see a platinum release including the co-op mode on disc. I think to coincide with the release will probably be the marketplace download. I for one would buy it as I like the game quite a bit, just I get bored going over the same levels. I want them to bring a multiple life download so when I die I don’t have to start at the very beginning. Co-op mode would be fantastic…
I wouldnt mind paying for some quality friends time wacking zombie to their overdue death .

this would be a lot of fun i l;ike the way a lot of games are doing co-op now but crack down was a bit stupid having to start a new game evety time.
give us more co=op story games.

yeah I might actually get to complete it in co-op!! I wonder if zombie kills are combined, or maybe the download will bring new achievements
I wouldn’t pay for it (I’m good at killing zombies by myself) but if it were free, I would love to play some co-op.
i’d pay for the co-op on that game you know how fun crackdown is just imagine dead rising.
if true, it looks like my friend will be giving me my copy back asap.
and now that i think of it, it could just be their yearly april fools joke. Such as the time they said “when you preorder twilight princess you get a bonus disc of windwaker redone using twilight princess-esque graphics.” they even had a REALLY REALLY convincing screenshot. and I thought it was true for so long.

I agree… This is one of my favorite games of 06′. Add the ability to Co-Op!! I am all over that.

I would def pay for this. My love for DR died a long time ago. This would def re-kindle the love that I once had for this game.

Not bloody likely. I couldn’t get over the not-having-any-save-points thing, and it quickly (eg, after three plays) fell off my game rotation. It was truly terrible.
If they put in a decent save function I might purchase the game. Was fun, but that single save is the pits.

If this was a April fool’s joke why would it have the word Rumour attached to it, wouldn’t they just say this is definitely going to happen so everyone gets excited first, then when April 1st comes piss everyone off by saying its bullshit.

While it’s cool to play co-op over live, it would be cool to play co-op off line too.
But, it should be fun and interesting to see how they do it for live.

I would probably pay for this as long as a few extra weapons came with it (power drill would be so cool) and they fixed the text thing.
Also if they do co-op make sure there’s a splitscreen option as well cos i felt that Crackdown felt like it was missing something without it and I think this would be the same.
Oh yeah 1 more, faster skateboard.
Co-op would be an awesome feature, but paying for it? I don’t think it’s fair, but I’d probably buy it anyway, I’m a sucker for cool shit. They could add a few more survivors, a psychopath or two, and maybe even a new area, small mind you, but new. That’d be badass.
