Ubisoft officially announce TMNT for XBLA
It was pretty obvious when the game went up on PartnerNet just last week that TMNT would be coming to the Arcade, but Ubisoft kindly took the time out to confirm it, probably to remove any lingering suspicions that the game wouldn’t be coming. It gets better after the jump, with pricing and a potential release date inside.
The game is old and retro, and thankfully Ubisoft have stuck to the standard 400 Points for a game of that structure. The game is also apparently coming in this very month, which may come as a huge surprise to you all. If it doesn’t slip into April I’ll be very surprised, but happy too! However, Joystiq say that With the TMNT movie out on Friday, March 23, we’re flagging the preceding Wednesday (March 21) as a likely release date. Maybe we will see it in March, but then again I only need to mention the word Worms and everyone knows what I’m talking about.
The game has been confirmed to offer 2-4 players Xbox Live co-op play, as well as offline play also capable of withstanding a four player onslaught. Naturally the four main characters of Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo all feature, and of course is in 2D, but there is no word as of yet as to whether there is an enhanced version for the graphics or not. It would be unusual if there wasn’t.

Will this be better than the full TMNT game being released in March? Only time will tell, but you can bet on Xboxic having reviews of both!

Awesomeness. I think for 400 points (which is what games like UMK3 and Doom should have been) is worth it. I may have to get this one.
…and Street Fighter.
Definitely. You caught what I was getting at.
400 POINTS! An absolute bargain. Here’s hoping they bring the Simpsons arcade game out too…
WE WANT TMNT, WE WANT TMNT
I’ve said no less than forty times that I’ve wanted this forever. Definitely a first-day purchase. I don’t even care for enhanced graphics.
Rossbot, I call Mike.
YES! I am really looking forward to this. This along with the simpsons arcade and X-men are my top arcade games I wanted for XBLA
“no word as of yet as to whether there is an enhanced version for the graphics or not. It would be unusual if there wasn’t.”
Doubt it.
FUCKING ACE though
Simpsons Arcade game next please.
I’m glad they added co-op support to this one.
