Halo will go on after third installment
If you thought that the fight would finish this year, then you’ll be pleased to know that that isn’t quite true as, in collaboration with Peter Jackson, there will be two episodic gaming series coming, one set in the Halo universe. This was initially discussed at X06, but things went quiet, until now. Also, MS admit that the 360 failing on so many people could have been better handled.
All the talking took place during a Microsoft-hosted breakfast session between Shane Kim and Chris Satchell. Of the hardware problems, Kim was reported as saying:
“It’s unfortunate that people have had problems with their Xbox 360… we’ve got room for improvement on both sides of the equation - it’s a top priority for us.”
At least they have recognised the problem and have plans to deal with it. Quite reassuring for anyone who has ever had to experience the Customer “Service” of Microsoft.
Of the episodic gaming series, it was confirmed by Kim that the Halo project was further advanced than the unannounced project, but both are still in the design phase right now. The collaboration between Peter Jackson and Bungie was originally announced at X06, where it was put forward that “a collaborative effort with Bungie Studios to co-create a completely new and original chapter in the Halo franchise.” (Thanks GamaSutra.)

There is no more information at the moment as to what kind of content this will be, but it is likely to be in downloadable form, and probably for a price. Not that that will stop any Halo fanatics from buying it!
Thanks nofear360 for submitting.

This should be good. Peter Jackson Is a Great director.
Finally. Their Customers service is horrible and its about time they improved it. I also whish they help better whith the 3 red lights. it cost £85 to fix a problem that is their fault.
I got great customer service from them. All three 360s that failed. [wink] They replaced them at no charge and quite quickly. Lots of others at a forum I frequent have had the same experience. General consensus is that the build quality needs work, but the service is great.
Same here man!! I have had no problems with the “service”. Mine failed but they replaced it quickly.
Who cares costumer servise when you have to pay £85 for their fault. That was I sold my second x360 and bought a PS3, LONG LIVE TO PLAYSTATION 3
I agree, the customer service is fantastic. I am going onto my second replacement & the guys on the other end of the line have been helpful.
The 360 is the best peice of machinery out there. (when it works)
let s hope halo 3 will have clan support
because gears DONT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gears is growing old…Fast. I’m staring to get bored. I wonder what the new halo 2 maps will be like??
the latest update on bungie mentioned a little on the maps. not much, but they sound freaking awesome. as frankie put it, one of the maps is “One of them is going to be the ultimate BR nastiness map, so SWAT and MLG-style players will have a ball.”
“Halo fanatics” needed an acronym tag that read “etalien”
lol
Ive never played nor seen a HALO game in my life - is it any good?
I’m probably gonna get flamed for this but… coming from the PC world to the wonderful world of xbox only one and a half year ago I was totally unimpressed by both Halo and Halo two. But them I’m not into online shooters and I’ve only played parts of the single player campaigns.
I see no need to flame … if you’re not into online FPSs then it’s understandable that Halo won’t be your cup o’ plasma. While I do like the Halo campaigns, it’s the strength and usability of the multiplayer that’s kept it alive … and if you don’t dig that, then so be it …
me neither (not being sarcastic)
If you guys are serious, you’re going to get several different opinions. Here’s mine:
I’m not a big fan of the single-player (played most of H1 and less than one mission of H2) but I love Halo 1’s multiplayer to death. I hated Halo 2’s multiplayer (they replaced the main weapons, pistol and assault rifle. An entirely different experience.) Halo 3 is shaping up well, and I can’t wait for Halo Wars (which is an entirely different animal anyway).
episodic sounds cool but developers will only use it to milk money out of consumers.
I bet it’ll turn out quite well, because Peter Jackson’s no beginner
