Test Drive goes Hardcore
If Forza 2 can’t come quick enough for you, then Test Drive: Unlimited is trying to make up for it, as the game sees more new content released. Featuring new cars as always, there is also a new Hardcore mode available, apparently making the cars handle considerably more realistically, and making it better suited should you have a steering wheel plugged in.

The first bit of content mentioned is free and serves as a simple taster as to what the full pack contains, however it isn’t currently available to Silver members, simply because it is free. Seems a bit silly personally, but that’s the way things go. Some of you may find it slightly outrageous that you have to pay for a new difficulty mode that should arguably have been included in the game from the beginning. Let us know what you think about it all below.
Thanks nofear360 for submitting.

I really liked this game, and all the new things they attempted to do with it, like the house, and meeting people for impromptu races on the street, but my friends always felt the handling just wasn’t there and so they never really got into the game.
Now, they release a new mode, and it has different handling, and I’m supposed to pay for it? Lame. I’ll wait for forza 2 thanks.
it’s really worth the money! only 160 points..
With the wheel it’s a lot more fun to drive now imo, definately not realistic (as forza2 will be) but it keeps me occupied a little while longer while waiting for the real deal
Lol Hardcore mode no thanks , i will wait for FM2
Paying for control options? What’s next, paying for loading pictures?
This is even more silly than horse armor.
this game bores me rotten
I love this game but I’m NOT paying for better car handling!!! This should either have been in the game from start or as a free update.
See, I knew they would start charging for patches. Let’s fix the handling, but call it hardcore mode instead and charge 160 points for it.
They lied about it as well. A mod on the UK Atari forums posted last November that FF and hardcore mode would be availble in early January. It was also posted that the hardcore mode would be free but required purchasing the December car pack. After that no communication for more than 2 months on either the US or UK boards on when the release would take place. Then it’s announcement at the end of Feb. that things would start getting released mid-March and that the hardcore mode would be pay and would not require the December Car Pack DLC. The mod on the US board posted that the mod on the UK board was wrong and he knew all along it would be pay. Nothing was ever said in months to correct that misinformation because they weren’t allowed to say anything because of MS’ strict rules. In reality it was a scam to not correct the info so everyone who wanted the mode would buy the Dec. DLC. Suckers! Screw Atari. I bought TDU and the first two car packs. I won’t give them another dime.
Totally agree with everyone here. I will NOT pay for better handling…thats like releasing HALO with a crappy control scheme and saying..pay us $2 and we will give you another set of controls to use that will work. Wheel support was totally crappy from the get go. They decide there is enough wheel demand that they should fix it..and now they are charging us for it? Total BS!!!!!!!!!!
So I’ve got to pay for the upgrade to make the steering wheel work like it should!!.
Lol, well Forza 2 it is as well then.
Slim
This content is unlockable by progressing to Champion status. If you don’t have time to unlock it you can pay for it. The force feedback works great without this upgrade. Hardcore mode is just more Hardcore. Don’t get caught up in the mob frenzy. Its not that bad.
Does TDU support force feedback or the wheel?
that should have been ‘for’
With the latest patch update to TDU it supports force feedback. Some like it some don’t. That is a free update.
After months of Atari not releasing DLC or patches (these were both due more than two months ago) and not communicating on their official boards to their customers about what and why they don’t release when they say they will I wouldn’t give them a dime. Whatever Atari is now (just a passed around trademarked name) they are the worst publishers. Save your money for Forza 2.
tdu is gay i prefer my gran turismo hd i have on my harddrive
