The galactica game brings an experience that is out of this world!

Portal only lasts four hours

If you remember the trailer shown of Portal, you’ll know that it is a completely baffling experience, but so intriguing that you really do want to play it. It seems you won’t be playing it for long though, as level designer Kim Swift tells Eurogamer that the game will only be roughly four hours long.

Thankfully, this isn’t a full retail game, otherwise that would be taking the piss somewhat. It comes bundled with the Half Life 2: Orange pack that is due for release around Christmas time, making the four hours altogether more reasonable.

Apparently the game will take some getting to used to, as one of the guys at Eurogamer was “reduced to a gibbering wreck as he attempted to get to grips with it”. There is of course a tutorial, but they skipped through it. I recommend that maybe you should listen to the tutorial in this game!

Regardless of the length of the game, your time with it will definitely be a fun one. There’s a lot you can do with the game and the Portal idea, and watching the trailer again, it looks like it will be a good laugh messing about with objects and everything else available in the game.

Without Googling the answer to some of these puzzles, I’m guessing the game could take me up to 4 years to complete hehe!

I was actually surprised to hear it was that long. I thought it was just like a 30-60 minute tech demo. I had no idea it was this full 4+ hour game.

This is not a problem at all. With everything in this bundle, there are countless hours to add up. HL:2 was about 6 hours I think (maybe longer), HL2: EP1 was 4 hours, Portal says 4 hours, and HL2: EP2 should be at least 4 hours. Throw TF2 into the mix and on one disc, you already have at least 18 hours of different game play. Thats a sweet deal for $60.

For me, that’s just the problem… I couldn’t care less about HL:2, but portal sounds like a LOT of fun…
I think they should put it up on XBLA!

And from the looks of things you will probably get your money’s worth with the MP for TF.

It’s fine for me, a few hours is enough for a game like this really.

Plus you get Half-Life 2 (~20 hours), Episode 1 (5-8h), Episode 2 (5-8h?) & Team Fortress 2 (lots of multiplayer fun for hours on end)

This has been known for quite a while. Thats exactly why its not a full retail game on its own.
