Dead Rising and Lost Planet to remain exclusive

With Devil May Cry going multi-platform, some felt that this was outrageous and started up an online petition. As sad and pathetic as that is, it generated a comment from Capcom suggesting that more games would be going multi-platform in the future. One forumer on the official forums asked if that applied to Dead Rising and Lost Planet, which was met with a pretty certain “no”.

“Westell”: What I am wondering, is since Capcom has claimed “Capcom is committed to making its titles available to as wide an audience as possible,” does that mean Capcom will be making games that were exclusive to the Xbox 360 cross platform as they did with Devil May Cry or is that quote from Capcom more of just a PR man doing their job? Thanks.

Christian Svensson (Capcom’s senior director of strategic planning and research): A fair question.

The answer is Dead Rising and Lost Planet are not slated to appear on Wii or PS3 as far as current plans go. The reasons for this are quite convoluted and I’m bound by NDAs on these matters so I can’t divulge why this is the situation.

The quote delivered above references our strategy moving forward, not something that is necessarily retroactive. You can see evidence of this with our previously stated RE5 plans going to 360 and PS3 simultaneously.

Pretty clear then. However it is more than likely that sequels to both Dead Rising and Lost Planet will go multiplatform, if not to the Wii then definitely the PS3, again for the usual reason of money, and making more profit. It is the natural progression of the industry. Now go sign that petition and let Capcom know how pissed off you are that more people can share the game, damn Capcom, unselfish bastards.

“It’s on a Sony machine only, why the hell would they treat us like this and make it available to everyone?!”

I can’t understand these people who get all personal with videogame platforms and releases and feel the neccessity to write in and complain. Get a life, surely if you wanted to play the game that badly you would have bought a 360 already….???

I’ll admit I’m a fanboy…but strictly a “videogame” fanboy that enjoys any platform, regardless….

What difference does it make if it is multi platform or not? As long as it is on the 360 that is all I care about.

Sony fanboys are just pissed that there beloved Sony is get pwnd this nex gen.

PS3 Fanboys are angry because they aren’t getting first treatment even though Sony and Capcom have been in bed with each other for a while. I would be angry if Bioware made a new rpg on PS3 only and I couldn’t play it. But in the end when I got a PS3 (which I am) I would grab it then. Exclusives sorta determine for some people what console to buy first. I just got a 360 because I wanted cool games, xbox live, and a great community (sorta kinda on community)

Don’t get your panties in a bunch but you can bet the sequels to Lost Planet and Dead Rising will be multi-platform.

Im glad that capcom will let us enjoy games such as devil may cry 3, and I dont see the big deal if everyone gets this game. I think the PS3 loyalists are just worried because the game will sell more on 360 then it eill on PS3 and Capcom knows that too. Im no fanboy either. Iv had a PS1, PS2, and Xbox. I made my console decision based on games, not on what it could mabe do. Personally I think its good for games to go multi platform so everybody can enjoy them. besides companys like Capcom make games for the people, and they want to make money for themselvs, not for microsoft or sony.

wow i just read the petition. thats horrible. so in other words they are saying, “we are upset because other people, who loves the series on PS2, get to play it on their xbox 360. Its not like they took it away. The fact that they boycott buying it shows that they are sony fanboys and not fans of Capcom. It kinda disturbs me. And im sure they will ALL still get if if they bothered to sign a petition about it. Did you see me boycotting megaman X3 because it was released on the ps1. nope i like mega man x.
