Burnout 5 supports Vision Camera
CVG had a chat with Criterion’s Burnout 5 director of design Alex Ward to find out that the next installment in the burnout series will support some features from the Xbox Live Vision camera. What kind of features to expect hasn’t been revealed yet, but it’s good to know that you haven’t bought your camera solely for video chat.
Burnout 5 would be the fourth game in line to utilize some of the possibilities. We can only guess about what kind of gimmicky features they come up with. Perhaps some face capturing technology like in Rainbow Six: Vegas so your driver looks like you, or maybe after the race is over you can laugh at and taunt your enemy like in Command & Conquer 3. It’s probably safe to assume you won’t be able to control your car or anything else in the game like in the horrible Totemball.
How you use the controller is key, how you play the game online, how you use the HD Eye toy and the 360 Vision Camera online is really important. But the game is totally free and totally open.
What kind of Xbox Live Vision features would you like to see in Burnout 5?
Thanks to nofear360 for submitting this news.

I nice picture of my giant cock on the hood of the car.
Yachtzee.
This is gonna be Awesome!!
Do you know by any chance, when it’s about to come out?
o snap
im stoked for that game, just because i love burnout in general. but it’s cool to see how/if developers are incorporating the vision camera into their game’s. i think it has the potential to offer a lot for the 360, assuming there are some clever designers to take advantage of it. it would be good for microsoft to push for that kind of thing, because then if those games became smash hits, everyone who doesnt have the camera already (large majority) would feel more compelled to lay down the cash, and then everyone wins. developers should start thinking in wii/ds terms for incorporating the camera.
we need some more games with cam ability, i got my cam at crimbo with R6:V thats the only retail game with it so far.
i know all these sports games that let you create your own person and you cant even put your head on him.
In Rainbow Six Vegas. I slapped a sticker on my face that said…’Fuck Off’ looks pretty cool in multiplayer mode. In World Series of Poker you can create textures for rugs, wallpapers and tables and stuff - so maybe you can use the cam to put logo’s on your car
I’ve wondered why no one does this… unless it’s just too much bandwidth and processor time:
Whenever someone talks, up pops a small live feed, then when they stop talking, it goes away… like the speaker icon… but cooler and in real time.
