That’s Sensible World of Soccer for those uneducated in the world of acronyms. The first shot shows just how much the game has come on since the original, yet retains the beauty that SWOS has always had. Check it out after the jump.

You can even see the player expressions on the pitch. We are told that this is a work in progress shot, hence the grey advertisement boards behind the pitch. Rest assured that they will have advertisements on when the game gets released in the Summer. If you don’t like it, there is the option to switch back to classic graphics for true retro beauty.

You might also be interested to know about the control scheme. Or, more accurately, the button you will control the game with. Everything will be done with the A button, whilst the analog stick (or the D-Pad, if you dare) will control movement and the game-defining curl of the ball. It shoots, tackles and heads, all with one button. This is to ensure that the true essence of the game is kept, and no doubt it will work just fine.

The game will be available on the Arcade in the Summer, and so long as it is 800 MS Points or less, SWOS fans will be celebrating. Hopefully there will be more news soon.
