It is a glorious day for people who enjoy great videogames as the long-time rumored next-gen Katamari sequel has finally shown its precious face. Xboxyde has 3 high quality scans of the latest edition of Famitsu, showing of what could very well be the awesomest video game known to man.

In case you’re one of those diehard Xbox fans who refuses to buy Sony hardware then you’ve probably missed out on one of the best franchises during the PS2/Xbox generation. In Katamari you walk around with a magic ball (a Katamari) that accumulates clutter as you roll it around the playfield. As you collect clutter the ball grows to epic proportions and therein lies the goal of the game; making your Katamari as big as possible. This might sound like a simple concept but it has proved to work really well. The two PS2 versions and the PSP version of the game resulted in a large following of fans and the upcoming Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Wii iterations will probably make that fanbase grow even further. The creator of the series, Keita Takahashi, isn’t working on Beautiful Katamari but we’re confident that the title will be fun as hell regardless. Further details are scarce but apparently the game has online on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. One of the screens shows a 7297km Katamari so it’s quite possible that you’ll have to roll up whole worlds in some sort of intergalactic setting, how awesome is that? Keep an eye on Xboxic for further details as soon as they’re announced.
