Infinity Ward update coming on Saturday
With the disappointment of Call of Duty 3, everyone was crying out for the real CoD developers to return, not those phonies from Treyarch. It will be of great interest to you then that forum admin ‘fourzerotwo’ has told the world that there is a massive update from Infinity Ward coming on the 28th of April, a Saturday as the above title suggests.
Absolutely nothing else is known for now, but ‘fourzerotwo’ mentioned the following:
Amazing Things To Happen On April 28th:
- 1758 - James Monroe, 5th President of the United States is born.
- 1788 - Maryland becomes the seventh state to ratify the Constitution of the United States.
- 1932 - A vaccine for yellow fever is announced for use on humans.
(Then nothing really happened for a long time…. but now….)
2007 - What goes down this April 28th is equal to, if not surpasses, the magnitude of any of those.
So something better than a vaccine is coming from IW. A cure for cancer seems unlikely, so we are left to wonder what is going on.
The most obvious thing would be a huge update on CoD 4. Rumours from ages ago suggested that console gamers wouldn’t see the fourth iteration of the series (real games, not those phony add-on games for the PC and consoles). It was also suggested it wouldn’t be set during World War II, so something along those lines certainly would be big news.
We might not be seeing this type of action for a while
Other than that, what do you all think? It will be very exciting come next Saturday, and you can be sure that Xboxic will bring you right up to date should this turn out to be exciting (and Xbox related).

Apart from the fact that it was mainly a linear string of cutscenes interconnected by semi-playable sequences… yeah
and you couldnt even skip the cutscenes!! they really weren’t that good the 4th time around.
I loved CoD3
COD 3 was better than part 2 in all aspects other than the single player campaign. Many people just don’t like when something feels different then what they are used to and get owned all the time.
well the game mechanics were clearly different. i enjoyed the feel of 2 better, simple as that. 3 was not as smooth as 2.

Yeah, that’s pretty biased reporting IMHO. I’ve never played CoD3, but I’ve only ever heard great things about it so to say that “everyone” was somehow disappointed with the job Treyarch did seems like a wee bit of an exaggeration.

COD3 online has got to be one of the best online games on the 360.
Anybody from the PC days of Soldier of Fortune 1/2 , playing capture the flag should get themselves COD3 straight away from some vintage CTF action.
The dam level and Poison are fantastic for CTF. Admittedly WAR is a little odd with COD3 as you kind of dont know where to go at times but CTF is much better.
