“Microsoft working on backward compatibility for Black”
Criterion’s Alex Ward has commented on the fact that both Black and Burnout Revenge are not backwards compatible. He says that Microsoft is in fact working on the games and that they’d “love it if you could play all of our titles right now on your 360″. The statement is made in this thread on the Gaming Age forums.
Jesus, you guys are seriously paranoid!
This is just an effort to set the record straight.
So many of you are attacking us, as developers, for being deficient in some way regarding backward compatibility.
It is simply out of our hands.
You are all so quick to jump to conspiracy theories about why things do or do not happen.
It’s beyond laughable to me.
You think we’re “evil” in some way because we’re about to release Burnout Revenge for 360 and the games don’t run on 360 right now - and that’s because of some evil masterplan!
It’s not.
We would love it if you could play all of our titles right now on your 360.
But right now, you can’t. The MS guys are working on this, and they are going as fast as they can. Same with Black.
So, please cut us, and them, some slack right now.
I attempted to clear up the confusion and dispel the conspiracy theories.
You can’t ask for fairer than that.Alex

I understand his frustration. The forums are so full of bullshit, xbox.com in mind, that it’s insane.
Our forums aren’t frustrating
I’d love all Xbox1 games to be BC, but i’m living in a dreamworld.
Chris; that’s the way it’s supposed to be imho. Especially with new games and popular games like Burnout Revenge.
I just want Mercenaries to be b/c…..
Considering MS said that the Xbox 360 will not be backwards compatible, now it is, is good enough. Don’t forget that they have to make the emulation, and then post it on Live. Another point is, why waste money on making the machine b/c when you will not be playing the old games when the sequels come out, you love the old games so much, keep your original Xbox.
