All I would really need the Elite for is the 120GB HD… and even then I don’t think I’d EVER have downloaded enough content to warrent getting it.

I play mine on a bog standard TV so the HDMI port is a bit redundant on me.

Maybe if I had a really high end HD TV… I’d think about it.

I was mad as heck, but now that I had time to think about it, I have little reason to be angry.

I care not for HDMI 1.3 as my brand new THX amp, and HD Projector both only support HDMI 1.2 only.

I care not if the XBLA games require me to be connected to live, as I am always connected to live, and I am the only person that uses my console (my wife has her own Xbox 360)

I care not about the movie issue as Canada does not the Marketplace at this time.

I care not about WiFi, as I have a gigabit switch in my house that connects all rooms, so LAN jacks are plentifull.

What did get me angry was that stupid extra effort that I have to do to transfer my files. I am still frustrated, but can see why it was done. As the article indicated, most who will purchase this console, do not already own an Xbox 360, and therefore will not need this one-time use transfer cable. This would not be an issue if I could just transfer all my save games to my Xbox memory stick, then to my Elite system but some save games cannot be transfered (Viva Pinata comes to mind).

Ah well…I already went out and purchased two black rechargeable battery packs…too late to turn back now.

im personally mad. thats a bunch of bullshit. they dont include the transfer cable, they make you have to go through the extra effort as the consumer - not a good business move. they also make it a fucked up transfer with arcade games and movies. and the HDMI is only 1.2 and not 1.3 which is crap if they are trying to truly be the leading edge and beat sony in terms of HiDef and being a media center. apparently there is also very little performance change. they also didnt build in WiFi which I still dont understand. so basically they are fucking over all the early adopters, who are most likely the biggest fans. good job M$ - i was gradually becoming more and more supportive of you as a company, beyond just loving xbox, but now youve thrown that down the shitter.

But if you don’t have live, like for instance you go round a friends house to get xlba titles or updates, then you’re screwed. I imagine Ms will be inundated with calls about non-working full versions of live arcade titles. At the moment from what I’ve heard their call system is already backlogged from customers trying to claim back MS points to repurchase titles after MS replaced the console

Also, other gamertags will no longer be able to play the games since it isn’t tied to their ‘tags.

You can still play arcade games using gamer tags that didn’t download them, as long as the tag that did download them is logged into live. So if you have two controlers, log one into live on the original tag and then use the other to play the full arcade game with the different tag of your choice.

I thought the transfer process would be connected from under the HDD to a USB port. Mentioned it way back on the news about the new 120GB HDD coming with a cable. The elite still seems a pointless buy by all accounts and everyone just as well get a bigger HDD on it’s own.
