Today SEGA has officially announced the follow up to the very well received launch game Condemned: Criminal Origins. The sequel will be called Condemned 2: Bloodshot which already sounds like they’re not going to cut back on the gore this time either. Developer Monolith will have the honorable task to create this game for the second time.

In this next installment you’ll assume the role of Ethan Thomas again, which is not surprising after the rather open ending of the first game. You’ve been called back to duty this time to track down your missing partner. Due to the events from Ethan’s past which have left him a broken man, you’ll be fighting your inner demons as well while investigating into the disappearance of your partner.

“Condemned 2: Bloodshot will keep gamers on the edge of their seats,” said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America. “Experience all the tension, psychological terror, and a variety of first-person hand-to-hand fighting mechanics in this innovative atmospheric thriller gamers have been longing for.”

A new fighting system will be introduced to this game which features all kinds of new defensive and offensive combo chains as well as grapples and holds instead of the rather simple system in the previous game. You’ll also be able to use your forensic tools which will have you solve your crime puzzles.

To prolong the game’s life, multiplayer modes have been added as well so you can beat the crap out of other people online. One of these new modes is deathmatch, the other ones are being kept secret for the time being.
