Frontlines pushed back

If you were looking forward to getting your hands on Frontlines: Fuel of War this year, then you will be severely disappointed to learn that the game has slipped from 2007 to 2008. Reasons why are after the jump.

Developed by Chaos Studios, publisher THQ has decided that taking on the holiday lineup of 2007 is not a good idea. They might just be onto something too; who wants to go up against the beasts that are GTA IV and Halo 3? 2008 definitely seems the more viable option there.

For those not in the know, Frontlines is very similar to Battlefield, whereby the idea of the game is team based combat on a huge scale, with various classes of soldiers, various weapons to utilise and various vehicles to reek havoc with. Chaos Studios do have several members of the Battlefield team working with them, which may explain some of the similarities.

We look forward to seeing the game next year.

Yeah, I agree…….I actually never even heard of this game until just now. I think this Fall and Holiday season will be the best ever in gaming.

Shut up

Uh yeah, Mc Dale snail. Hey don’t use all that vocabulary at once.

Probably a good strategy. If they release it this fall it will just end up a no name title. They need to wait until the consumers are hungry for something new and then release that baby. It looks like a great game, but I don’t think it can compete with the stiff competition that is coming out this fall.

yes it does look like a great game, shame it was moved back but it does make sense, spread the good games out instead of having them all out at once, especially alongside halo 3.

“various vehicles to wreak havoc with”

The feature in this game that I’m really looking forward to is the “random” maps. As I understand it, in team games, Team A picks a map tile, Team B picks a map tile, and a third tile is randomly selected. The three tiles are them combined into one unique landscape and battle ensues.
