Battlefield 2 officially delayed on 360

Electronic Arts was already hesitant to put a definitive release date on the 360 version of upcoming war shooter Battlefield 2: Modern Combat, and now developer DICE has officially announced the game will not be released before April this year despite many previous speculations on a release date of March 14th.

Directly from the press release on their site:

The launch of Digital Illusions’ game Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for Xbox 360 will be in April 2006. The game’s versions for Playstation 2 and Xbox were launched in November 2005.

Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for Xbox 360 will be sold all over the world at full price, approximately 59.90 USD.

why do i feel like these developers are trying to play me for a chump, announcing false release dates, false gameplay, false patches. just as long as they get it at least close to right on release, i can wait an extra month.

BF2 JUST SLIPPED TO APRIL- NO SURPRISE. REASON ? I BELIEVE TOO MANY GAMES ARE COMING OUT IN MARCH AND EA WANTS MORE OF THE LIONS SHARE. BELIEVE ME BF2 IS READY

At least give us backwards compatibility. I bought BF2 for xbox, was completely hooked and now can’t even play it.

EA can burn in hell.

I was going to buy this game. Now I’m not. Why would they JUST now tell us after all the recent surge of videos/screens? They’ve known all along.

Assholes.

It’s good that they make a game as good as possible, but it’d be a little easier for us if they gave us a more realistic release date. Especially so close to the previous date.

When they push it back, they better make it an amazing game, or the next game they create won’t be respected.

Tut tut tut…

You people jump the gun to fast.Get used to the delays for the next gen systems.Delays are a good thing.Remember games are 60 bucks now take longer to make and they cost much more to make.Won’t you guys just be patient and cut the developers some slack.

regardless of how much longer they take, it is just as difficult as it has always been to predict when a title will be ready. i admit and empathize with that. i am just really tired of release dates beings used for p.r. purposes. it is hard for me to believe that release dates reflect the actual estimated gone gold date, but whatever date seems to be the most useful in moving units (in the long run (these guys aren’t stupid)). i want the final product to be ready just like you do, i just do not like being jerked around.

“get used to delays” means to me: “get used to being lied to.”
