Fable 2: sketchy details revealed

If you can’t wait for more news about Fable 2, then this new interview probably isn’t the best place to look. In a recent interview with Loinhead, Lionhead Studio’s Peter Molyneux gave one of the strangest responses to questions possible. The only really interesting bit is about death. Ironic that.

Speaking about three big features in the game, he mentions the following:

Death. Think about it. Think about death. Think about what computer games do with death. What have they done with death? What does every game do, what does just about every game do with death?

Try to ignore it, simplify it?

Well, it’s even worse than that, you die, and you go back in time twenty minutes to do the same thing over again. That’s fine if I’m playing a platformer, not so fine if you’re doing an RPG game. So I haven’t talked about death, there’s another thing which I haven’t talked at all about which is another word that you’re gonna hear me use - which I’m not gonna talk about - it’s another big thing.

It seems that rather than just dying and restarting, Fable 2 will bring something slightly different to the table. Hopefully they can look to Prey and see how not to do it before implementing some sort of system. The rest of the interview can be read here, if you can make any sense of it.

Peter Molyneaux = Self indulgent.
The guy just talks in code to create buzz.
I’m not getting caught up in any hype from him ever again. ever since he ran his mouth about 6 years ago about FABLE, I can’t fully trust in anything he says

I don’t trust anything he says. That man is a hype machine. Although Fable was still a good game even though it was way too damn easy and didn’t have about 99% of the features he promised.

Be funny as hell if, when you die, it deletes your save and you have to start again ;

He has gone crazy on the aspect of players getting sexually transmitted diseases as well. Although it would be cool if something was done with the aura of dying, its a videogame. If we die and have to start over, that may turn off a few gamers.

Me?? I just enjoy a good game, so if it passes that test, it will get a run through from me.

the new thing there going to revel is when you die you play as one of your kids.

If Peter Molyneux was in my room, I’d be on my hands and knees sucking his balls.
