If there was one thing that a Guitar Hero game needs, it is songs to rock out to. Though we had the initial announcement of the game back in April, which confirmed wireless guitars, the key element of the game was missing. Finally, Activision have announced a few of the songs that will be in the game.

As previously mentioned, the game will be playable with wireless guitars. They will be customisable thanks to faceplates that will be made available, and also have a few new designs, depending on which system you buy the game on. The “Gibson Guitar’s Les Paul model” will be available for the 360, PS3 and Wii, whilst those picking it up on the PS2 will be able to rock it out with a “Kramer” model. New button designs are also promised.

As with the last game (on the 360 at least), there will be all manner of downloadable content across all systems after the game is released. The press release states that there is likely to be more offered this time around since loads of record labels have been signed up. Let’s just hope they are reasonably priced this time. The game also promises to play host to multiplayer battle modes that will be better than last time as well as grueling boss battles. The multiplayer will also be online, allowing people all around the world to rock it out for the title of King of the Guitar. On the leaderboards at least.

It’s pretty exciting times then to be a Guitar Hero fan. No release date has been set yet, but expect this before the year end.
