EXIT for XBLA
No, the Xbox Live Arcade is not leaving us, but a new game is joining. Originally released on the PSP, EXIT is making the jump across so that Arcade fans get a slice of the action. The game sounds perfect for the XBLA, however according to grumblings from the PSP players, controls are an issue.
The game premise is simple. You play as Mr. ESC (you just couldn’t make it up) and as a professional escapologist (still not making it up), it is your job to escape from hospitals, offices and other such scenarios. Along the way though you will encounter objects or natural causes that stand in your way. Fire and earthquakes are two such disasters that will hinder your progress. Also along the way will be individuals that need saving before you finish the level; you can’t complete said level until all are safe. All this and there is also a time limit. Let’s hope that Mr. ESC put his deodorant on before he went out.

New stages will be added exclusively to the Arcade version, and will be in a 2D perspective akin to the PSP version. IGN state that the game is scheduled for a Japanese release in the Summer, at the price point of 800 MS Points. Surprising, but none the less good to know. Other release territories are currently unknown.

My mate had this on his PSP, don’t know if he imported or whatever, but the only thing EXITing was the game from the console, straight to the fucking bin. Terrible game.
*yawn*…This may be personal opinion, but I don’t want to play some side scroller game that looks like it came a few years after pong. The only game I will even considering buying is the 3D ones.
Oddly enough its one I think I’ll like.
Yeah I thought that too. But doing some research on the game suggested that alot needs to be fixed control-wise, however that might be the limitation of the PSP than the game itself.
Looks exactly like Cloning Clyde.
from a Blind perspective
Which version of Cloning Clyde did you play?
Yes, if they fix the control issues which got rather annoying on the PSP, then this will an excellent addition to my collection. That’s if they deem Europe worthy to have it.
I hope the “extra” levels that were made available for the PSP for free will also be made available for free on XBLA?!?!?
I hope this is like the old Poesidon Adventure game! (Anyone remember that?)
Those ‘control issues’ are there on purpose, it’s why this game isn’t a platform game but a puzzle game. I played a lot of Exit on PSP, I’ll probably get this as well.
looks like cloning clyde in a way
Thankyouverymuch.
I wasn’t saying it was CC, just reminded me of it. I’m not alone.
it is definitely a lot like cloning clyde, ive played both. EXIT has some really great art to it IMO and also some pretty good gameplay. though, like cloning clyde, it doesnt have much replay value once you beat it, but it takes a pretty good amount of time to get through it, so you’ll probably get an equal amount out of it as some other games. im assuming we’ll see it for 800 MP but 400 MP would be nice since this technically isnt original content, but similar games have generally not been priced that way so it will probably be 800.
