Silent Hill 5 coming this year?
The rumour section found in magazine EGM is a busy one. This time, they are suggesting that we could see Silent Hill 5 as early as this year, despite nothing really being heard of the game.
As if that wasn’t enough shocking information, the game is apparently being developed by Konami’s US arm as opposed to the Japanese arm that has done the others. How this affects the game is anyone’s guess, but at least the game is moving along nicely.
Speaking with CVG last month, Akira Yamaoka (producer of Silent Hill 2 on PC) mentioned that work had started on the game:
“At the moment I cannot reveal much detail on the story, or our progress, but I can tell you that this game will resemble Silent Hill 2 in the terms of the way the player is directed and the characters’ behaviour.”
Who will return from the fourth game?
Does a 2007 release date sound realistic to you? Konami weren’t available when CVG tried to contact them, so speculate yourselves in the comments below, and let us know what you hope will be in the game.

True, The Silent Hill series are one of my favorites in the survival-horror genre! I’ve never been more creeped out then when I was playing these games!
Every rumour you have to take with a grain of salt, the Dead Rising Co-Op was indeed in the works, but was shut down early on. The sequel will indeed have co-op.
But Silent Hill 5 this year, is highly doubtful, nothing regarding this game has barely surfaced, so its a ways off.
