New content for the Marketplace announced
A whole host of new content is coming the Marketplace this June. Logo, part of the MTV Network, are bringing a load of new content to the Xbox Live Marketplace for you all to enjoy, more famous for being the channel providing for the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender audience. Also signed up are CMT, America’s number one country music network. There are also new films coming too.
On offer, for the US on their special, exclusive Marketplace will be:
- Country Music Television. On June 6, country music fans on Xbox LIVE will enjoy a great lineup of TV shows from CMT, the #1 country music network in the nation. Fans can download the first seasons of hit shows such as, “Comedy Stage,” “Foxworthy’s Big Night Out” and “Prankville” starting tomorrow, with more series and episodes rolling out this summer.
- Logo. On June 11, Xbox 360 will become the first gaming console to offer content from Logo, the network for the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender audience from MTV Networks. Xbox LIVE will offer a bevy of popular Logo shows, from comedies “Wisecrack,” and “The Big Gay Sketch Show,” to scripted dramas like “Noah’s Arc,” and other programs including, “Curl Girls” and “Real Momentum Documentaries.”
Starting on the 12th June will also be some new anime content available:
- FUNimation. The epic adventure series “Samurai 7,” adapted from Akira Kurosawa’s legendry film “Seven Samurai,” is coming to Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Also coming from FUNimation: “Trinity Blood,” “Gunslinger Girl,” and “Basilisk.”
- Geneon Entertainment. Die-hard fans and those new to the genre alike will enjoy the U.S. HD debut of the anime classic “Akira,” available exclusively from Geneon on Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Also available from Geneon Entertainment at launch: “Gun Sword,” “Last Exile,” “Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo” and “Lupin the 3rd.”
Also announced are some new films for downloading. With Team America: World Police now available (as of the 1st June), there are five more offerings coming this month:
- Dreamgirls
- Letters from Iwo Jima
- Shooter
- Black Snake Moan
- Pan’s Labyrinth
That’s a hell of a lot of content coming for the Americans to enjoy, and it is nice to see all audiences being catered for. No doubt many of you will be delighted by this news. Let us know what you will be downloading when it is made available.

I realy dont care that LOGO will be a part of the market place. But this does need to be locked out for young kids. I know that this is a part of our society but children need to have things like what this network povides explaind to them by there parents at the right time. I just dont see this being appropriate media for market place distribution. I hope that microsoft sees this and makes some kind of correction.
Why would you lock out different sex orientation programming? I don’t see the evil about it. I don’t know the content but I assume their will be no explicit content like genitalia, breast or whatever. Also all content is age rated, so if your 360 is correctly configured this is a non issue.

It’s a propaganda channel that promotes homosexuality at the end of the day and some parents will not want their kids to have access to it at an early age. Asking for it to be locked out for minors sounds pretty natural to me.
Yes but locking out inapropriate content is a parental issue not a microsoft issue as the original poster suggests. MS provides enough tools to facilitate that.

I am sorry but I am not “trolling”. I just know that I dont want my kids stumbling across this channel. As a christian I dont want my 12 year old exposed to anything that I dont feel he is ready for. Sorry if you have any hard feelings. I know that the Homosexual Community is a powerful market to tap into and for many that dont have access to this channel it may be a great opportunity. For me I see it as a parental issue also. I just see that this may need additional steps maybe allong with other content. I know that even though you cannot buy many things that there are previews. I just see maybe removing those and descriptions for parental controls which currently it will not do. That is why I have brought this up.

Good to see a Country music channel being inflicted on the yanks. They gave the world that shit, it’s only right they should suffer it more than the rest of the world has to.
I hope Microsoft release some DLC in the form of audio tracks of americans howling in pain as they endure country & western music. I like to feel the perpetrators of this terrible crime against music are being made to suffer.

If HD anime episodes, that are truly HD get put on the marketplace, and it’s good stuff, I will honestly immediately buy a 120GB HDD, and begin a loving affair with the video marketplace ASAP.
…..I can only imagine some HD Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya episodes.. come on Bandai, HD versions of the show exist, XBLM exists.. MAKE THE DREAM HAPPEN!

You’re doing a good job at illustrating why kids need to learn that differences in sexual orientation are something rather normal in the animal kingdom, and as such for humans as well. 1 out of 10 humans are homosexual to some extent, that’s about 600 million people on this world.

It utterly amazes me how willingly people toss aside their freedoms, instead of choosing to act mature and responsibly. Yes, let’s have Microsoft decide what appropriate content is instead of consumers or a parent. Instead of parents participating in the education of their children, we’ll allow the children to remain as void of intellect as their parents. After all it is Microsoft’s responsibility to raise my children. I’ll spend$600.00 CDN on a box for entertainment, designed to reach as large of an audience as possible, where the overwhelming majority of games released are designed for a mature audience. When a segment of the market I disagree with is represented, instead of using the built in parental features, or better yet actually discerning what my child is playing or watching and opening a dialog, I’ll whine, complain and scream ban this in protection of the children. Oh, I forgot, a 12 year old doesn’t possess the mental maturity to comprehend that there are differences between the species on the planet, Santa Clause is real, and the Easter Bunny and Jesus share a strange symbiotic relationship.
Hopefully, should Microsoft recognize the utter madness and destruction perpetrated by monotheistic religions such as Christianity and Islam, they in their infinite wisdom will ban any possible religious content advocating and indoctrinating into these mass delusions. Let us keep downloadable movies. I would happily pay more money for a HD movie that I can store on the 95 gigs I still have left and I can watch anytime. Rather than spending money for a HD-DVD drive with limited support and perhaps a short life. (In terms of studio support, not technical issues)
