Shadowrun and Tenchu Z demos available for download

We reported to you guys that the Shadowrun was meant to be released yesterday, but that it was delayed until today. However, you can now rejoice at the news that you can now try out Shadowrun for yourself because the demo is now available to download from the Xbox Live Marketplace. As well as this, you’ll be happy to know that you can also try out the demo of Tenchu Z, as that too is now on the Marketplace.

Firstly, the Shadowrun demo is now available for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Even though we had to wait a little while longer then we might have liked, it is finally here. While Major Nelson hasn’t posted the details of the Shadowrun demo, we checked it out and to download it, it will take up approximately 1.07GB of precious space on your Hard Drive and will obviously be free. The description you will see when you go to download it is as follows.

Download Shadowrun’s multiplayer demo, an intense FPS experience that rewards cleverness and split-second improvisation through a unique combination of modern weapons, ancient magic and advanced technology.

Up next is the Tenchu Z demo. Here are the details straight from Major Nelson:

Name: Tenchu Z Demo
Price: Free
Availability: Not available in Asia
Dash Details: Tenchu Z Demo includes a single player mission and pre-selected ninja accessories from the full game. Master the Ancient art of Stealth in Tenchu Z using your keen senses and wide array of Ninja weaponry to become the Ultimate Ninja Assassin.
Size: 641.8 MB (approx.)

Personally I can’t wait to play the Shadowrun demo. I think this game looks pretty good, but I want to try out the demo before I go running off and buying it. As for Tenchu Z, I’m not too interested in it but I’ll download the demo anyway to see what the game is like. I might even be surprised and really enjoy it.

Many thanks to Karel_ende for letting us know about the Shadowrun demo, and many thanks to Tucky for letting us know about the Tenchu Z demo!

Everyone should check this game out. Shadowrun is a very fast, hectic FPS with lots of variation and due to the fact that its online only there should be lots of DLC and updates to keep it fresh.

If you liked the other 4 Tenchu tittle, you will feel at home with this tenchu demo. That being said…I do feel that this game should have looked WAY better since its for the 360. On a bright side…this is a big improvement from the PS2 version.

I played Shadowrun during the beta, but am interested in the demo. I wouldn’t mind owning the game. I just don’t feel like spending $60 on a multiplayer only game. I have a feeling that this game will quickly become a budget title. I think within a month or two, it will be down to $40.

k, dude i purchased shadow run and let me tell you it was a big mistake. when your doing all the training missions you’ll be like ‘holy crap this is awesome’ and it is to certain degree. the things you can do are amazing.the problem is you’ll get bored fast. the maps are small and theres only like 8 or 9. i’ve played each map god knows how much time and honestly man, the maps could have used some work. i know dlc will be coming soon, but this game needs it ASAP! i traded this game with a friend of mine who didn’t like forza 2 (to each his own i guess) and i’m enjoying forza a lot more. i guess the feeling you get when you play shadow run is ripped off. you paid $60.00 for something that should have been $30.00. you’ll see what i mean when you play the demo.

Most good multiplayer games have semi-forgettable single player modes. And honestly, I really couldn’t care less about why a bunch of trolls, elfs, humans and midgets decided to play Corporations and Hippies. (cowboys and indians) I think the game is substantially worse if you don’t have anyone to play with, but I have 5 good friends on XBL I play with, and I haven’t touched the Halo 3 beta since I bought Shadowrun.

i enjoyed Tenchu, once you figure out the controlls its great, sneaking up on thr guys dropin down on them from the roof and slitting their throats!

UKJAY was allowed topromte Shadowrun as a good game? Holy shit, what has this world come to.

It’s a damn good game. Chances are the demo doesn’t do it justice at all, since half the magic and stuff isn’t available.

Holy Hell, Tenchu !! YESSSSS!

ARRRRGH It is taking forever to download!!!!!
Wait, Ninja must possess patience…..

I can’t believe people don’t actually like Shadowrun. I played the hell out of the beta and never got bored with it. $60 though is too much. $40 would have been a lot better because they’ll rake in a lot of cash with DLC.

Comment by VeteranAssassin on 2007-06-07 22:45:19 | Reply

There had better be a significant portion of the DLC that will be free of charge; that is what will justify the original price point.

Not considering the price of the title, the game is well worth a look. Obviously it will not appeal to all. As NeMeSiS eNfOrCeR put it, to each his own.

I find that most of the Microsoft games are really well priced, here in Australia anyway. Most games in Australia go for 119.95 AUD RRP. Shadowrun is $69.95AUD RRP, what a F!@#en bargain me thinks. :D

Comment by VeteranAssassin on 2007-06-08 02:41:27 | Reply

Are you serious? Isn’t 119.95 AUD nearly $100 USD? Yowsa!

Still, nearly 60% less for the game is not bad in any currency.

is there a shadowrun demo for windows yet?

Comment by >_ on 2007-06-08 04:55:48 | Reply

i got it for $37.95 for windows vista but you need a really good comp :D if you have a 360 controller plug it in its basically the same thing :)

I just hope the full version of tenchu still has the poisoned rice; that was the key to the franchise. Chuck a poisoned rice into a secluded area, go stealth wait for the idiot to pick it up, stealth kill everytime! and if you kill them before they finished eating, you’d get the rice back, double score!
The Smell-ometer is kinda neat, as long as all the levels have some water you can wash off in.

I had such high hopes for Tenchu.
Thank god for demos though, because I would’ve been mighty pissed if I bought it. Its f=ing terrible.
I wanted to eat poisoned rice after playing it last night.
