New bull-riding game in the works
The sport genre is filled with all manner of different sports, but have you ever felt it lacked one thing? No, not ice-skating, but a bull-riding game. Developer Crave have decided the time is right to move in on the untapped market of bull-riding games. Great.
The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) group has been drafted in to make sure this game is as authentic as possible. PBR states that bull-riding is currently the fastest growing sport in the US. Not surprising since every other sport has already grown, but whatever.
Said Rob Dyer, President of Crave:
“The sport of bull riding has gained tremendous momentum over the past few years, attracting a huge international audience as well as heavy duty corporate sponsors. We feel the skill and tenacity needed to stay on a bucking bull will translate perfectly to the videogame arena.”
From PBR:
“Crave has spent a lot of time getting to know the intricacies of the PBR brand and the sport of bull riding and they get it! We are looking forward to working with their creative team to translate the adrenaline rush and action inherent in our sport to the major console platforms.”
It’s rumoured that this will be a secret mode, but no-one was available for comment from Crave to confirm or deny reports…
How this game is ever going to be enjoyable one can only guess, but unless it ships with one hell of a giant peripheral, who really wants to play a balancing game that doesn’t have a skateboard in sight? Enlighten everyone in the comments below by telling us how bull-riding translates to a decent videogame. Xbox Live play is sure to be interesting.

Anyone think that we need more diversity in games?
It is apparent that almost no one here likes the idea of this game but there are actual PBR fans out there that may like this game, they may love this game, it may cause them to buy a Xbox 360 and after beating their game purchase a copy of Halo and be your newest boy-toy to beat up online. So my point? Well stop your bitching and start offering ideas for the game to help the publisher make some good choices. Better yet grab your internet browser (you know the ‘e’ that you download all that porn with) and go to the publisher’s website and send an email about your advice or even your concerns. Take action or go back to your Halo.

Just because we’re not stoked about this idea, surprise surprise, it doesn’t mean that we have never offered constructive criticism. Many of us participate in Betas or post on more specific forums offering ideas for improvement.
I’m all for diversity, that’s why there’s more than FPSs in my collection, but this idea obviously appeals to only a small minority of gamers. If the devs and financial backers want to take that risk I’m not going to stop them.
But, since you want advice I’d have to say, “Don’t make this game”.
