Sierra Entertainment is currently working on bringing the works of Robert Ludlum, the famed writer of the Jason Bourne series, to the Xbox 360, starting with a unique derivation of The Bourne Identity. The movie version of The Bourne Identity faired very well as a movie, getting very high ratings and box office attention, so hopefully The Bourne Conspiracy will follow in its footsteps.
The Bourne Conspiracy will feature famous events from The Bourne Identity, as well as new plot segments to freshen up the experience. If you’re familiar with the movies or the novels, you will instantly identify the series with its extravagant stories that are riddled with plot twists and witty writing. This new title will expand upon Robert Ludlum’s visions to fully immerse the player in Jason Bourne’s lifestyle of cat-and-mouse espionage.
“This videogame represents an entirely new way to expand on the prolific storytelling of Robert Ludlum” said Jeffrey Weiner, the Executor of the Ludlum Estate and CEO of Ludlum Entertainment. “By allowing the game to explore new story elements, we have allowed this property to take on a life of its own, going beyond the books and movies.”
Jason Bourne, now a rouge government agent, doesn’t remember his past life of high-risk, confidential missions. Bourne must rid his life of those who hunt him, be it the hounding U.S. government that seeks to reclaim him or sects of dangerous terrorists. The Bourne Conspiracy will likely be a title that revolves around the instinct of survival, as Bourne must avoid detection and use his supreme hand-to-hand combat skills and firearms abilities.
Though The Bourne Conspiracy will not arrive until summer of next year, be sure to check out the movies and novels if you haven’t done so: The Bourne Ultimatum, the next chapter in the film series, will hit theaters throughout the United States on August 3rd.
