New dashboard update arrives
Those who connect to Xbox Live right now will be getting another Dashboard Update right away, or possibly when you start a game. We’re looking for changes right now, but we can already confirm the new Dashboard version is 2.0.2258.0 and background downloading does not work yet regrettably.
Major Nelson announced the patch half an hour ago, and points to the information at Xbox.com:
The March 2006 Xbox 360™ update will prepare your Xbox 360 console for future system and title updates. This free* update is available to all Xbox Live® members. Your console will be updated the next time you sign in to Xbox Live.
*Requires a broadband connection and an Xbox Live account.
The Xbox development team has only this to add:
The System Update will also be distributed in upcoming game discs, magazine discs, and even through the retail kiosks.
They’re rather open with information again as usual. We’ll keep you posted as we discover more information.
an update to prepare my console for future updates? microsoft is gonna have to start paying ME for MY damn time if they keep this crap up. give me something… ANYTHING! jesus h. monkeys from hell.

What is the point of this update did it do anything special the only update I am waiting for is the patch for call of duty 2 so we don’t get any lag or the demo for GWAW.

Wow, this update could not have pissed me off more. I was on level 50, playing Endless Mode on Bejeweld 2 when it signed me out of Live. I opened to Guide to sign back in and it told me there was an update. Well, after it updated, I reloaded Bejeweled and my Endless Mode save was gone. I had about 7 hours put into those 50 levels.
So now I hate Bejeweled 2. I was looking for a good reason to!

Well this might be the same or not but when you looked at original xbox owners on your friends list there was nothing in the rep stars or anything…now you can submit a player review on them and actually give them a rep..not sure if this is new or not..DOES anybody know..?
i think it just opens a pipeline for developers to be able to release their patches once they are approved by microsoft. this would explain the horrible absence of title updates over the past few months as developers might not have been able to release them. i also hope this means clan support will finally be available through Xbox Live. anyways we will know if call of duty 2, doa 4, or pdz get patched soon. im betting they do before Graw hits because i have a theory MS was holding back patches to keep the launch games selling once new ones started hitting……
Nothing but The Outfit demo is coming out atleast for a couple of weeks unless they release astropop or feeding freenzy on the arcade.This is starting to become depressing,why is it so hard to give us the graw demo….
they wont release a demo for it over the marketplace yet cause most likely they want to put it in the oxm demo disc. im sorry, no offense to fans of the mag, but a good 30% or higher of it is ads. if not for the demo disc its really not worth buying. much like cod 2 im guessing we wont see a graw demo for a few months on the marketplace.
I got the download when I booted up COD2 and thought, omg online patch. No such luck. Not even a BC update…

Sorry,no new demos in April OXM. Just rehased stuff…lol I’m a new subscriber and this mag already blows. They rated Fight Night Round 3 a 10. Great Game but a 10, No way!

The patch was probably “drivers” for the new 360 camera being released soon, and maybe added functionality to enables game patches. Nothing major, it only took about 30 seconds to download so why worry.
The only thing we need to worry about is if the 360 goes the same route as the PC, i.e. companies releasing unfinished buggy games that ALWAYS need a patch to play it! GRRRR
By many accounts, the patch was to shore up a possible piracy loophole…

Any news on the Call of Duty 2 patch? I assume this last download was to open the gates for the multiplayer CoD patch. Let me know what’s up.
I got the new update but I didnt get the outfit demo, and i keep on signing out of xbox live and in but nothing!!!PLEASE HELP!!!
update has nothing to do with the demo, which should be on marketplace “before monday.”
