EA already planning Army of Two sequel
In a discussion with CVG, lead designer Chris Ferriera admitted that EA have plans to do a sequel of Army of Two, so long as the game is successful. Army of Three confirmed for next year then.
Ferriera said to CVG with regards to a sequel:
“This is EA right? So when we have a hit we’ll make more. To think of this game as a new IP within EA, it has to be right. We want the first game to be perfect, because if we launch an IP and it isn’t what we want to make and isn’t made to the right quality level, then the future for the franchise doesn’t exist. We want to really build something strong. Right now people tend to like it, so if we can make a sequel we can find out what people didn’t like about the first and put in the stuff we didn’t have time to - like originally we had 60 different co-op moves and only a tenth of those are going to make it into the final product.”
The honesty with Ferriera is at last amusing, and at the end of the day most companies are looking for a sequel to their upcoming game; this is business after all. However the speak of sequels from EA always instills a rush-job; throwing something out the year after to scoop in some more money regardless of how crap the game is.
If they do do a sequel, does it seem unreasonable to ask for a marked improvement over the original? Come on EA, it’s time you delivered…

We haven’t played the first to see if there is much to really improve, now have we Ross?
Ahahahaha. That was good.
But seriously, save the skepticism, at least until the game comes out. Ferriera said he only wanted a sequel if the first sold well, so you can at least give the devs some credit in knowing that they want the game to be good.
“originally we had 60 different co-op moves and only a tenth of those are going to make it into the final product”
So there are only 6 co-op moves in a game which is primarily a co-operative experience?

So there are only 6 co-op moves in a game which focuses on co-operation? Classic EA
Don’t worry, you’ll be able to download the rest… for the right price of course.
Pretty Much. “co-op Moves 7-12″ 150 MS Points!
Only 150 MSP? More like 500 MSP lol
Sorry…I was trying to give EA some credit
Thats what it sounds like… that doesn’t sound like much fun anymore. the videos looked sweet cause they were doing all this coop stuff that looked sweet.
Honest to god the game was amazing. A little short but it was still a fantastic gaming experience..beat it in the first day..took 5 to pimp all my weapons..but none the less it was fantastic and the sequel has to be longer! 5 out of
5 out of 5 oops =P
