EA Skate in with release date and demo news

Anyone pining for Tony Hawk and his games will be enlightened to know that EA have announced when their upcoming game skate is set for release, as well as announcing that there will be a demo available before the game ships.

The game is expected to ship on the 12th September in the US, with Europe following closely behind on the 14th September. As for the demo, well that is expected to drop on the 15th August. That should pass the time well coupled with Stranglehold.

Is anyone at all excited about skate, and will it take the crown of top skating game come September?

I’ve gotten tired of skating games. They just feel like the same old crap. Just like every other sports game.

*Nods in agreement.*

But what heard is that this one will have a different gameplay, which is more than welcome since THPS was pretty much the only one out there. I think a bit of competition can’t go wrong here

Skate looks terrible. The most recent trailer is disgusting. They are so “floaty,” and they are trying to sell this off as a more realistic skating game. Garbage.

Oh, just been reading about, apparently it is only the replay mode that is affected by floaty weirdness. In-game is meant to be much better.

I hope so. I want to play as Rob Dyrdek.

As much as the latest trailer seems less realistic than they initially proposed, a decent skater lineup and new control system have me confident about purchasing this. The website, which is updated daily, also gives me the impression that the development team are really enthusiastic about wanting to feed information to the consumer.
On top of this, the UK is getting some hecking weird weather this year and a new skate title to play indoors when it’s wet outside it great for when you can’t go out and roll around in the real world.

Skate looks fantastic to me, Tony Hawk gameplay animations look far more wooden and disjointed. The trailers for Skate I have seen have impressed me no end and it will be good to have another skateboard title to play.

Hurry up with that demo….I cant wait. To say Skate looks terrible is I feel a bit over the top…
