Mafia 2 announced
2K Games announced today that it will publish Mafia 2, the sequel to the crime simulation game Mafia, which sold over 2 million copies. The game is being developed by Illusion Softworks, the developers of the original title and will release for Games for Windows, as well as next generation platforms.
Mafia 2 promises to offer a cinematic “Hollywood” game experience with strong believable characters. The game looks to combine “high octane gunplay, white knuckle driving, and an engaging narrative”. Like its predecessor, Mafia 2 will put players in a fictional mob underworld set in the late forties to the early fifties.
The original Mafia title found critical acclaim for creating a more realistic version of the GTA series set in the classic gangster era. Players not only had to worry about being caught shooting and killing other citizens like in GTA, but in the original Mafia title police would issue speeding tickets if you were driving too fast or violating other rules of the road. The best PC game in existence imo. Outshines GTA3 completely. Incredible storyline, lovely graphics, awesome intro music, brilliant characters, and inspiration from the best Mafia/gangster films around.
Can’t wait for Mafia 2…on the PC. Mafia on the consoles was pretty poor apparently.
shoot mafia the firts one was good and all but alot of driving was involved i need more gunplay mission than just driving around for the whole damn game boring well hopefully this game will be better than the firts one and it was more realistic than gta series and godfather game crappy game

the first was one of the worst games ive ever played next to that retarded break out of prison game set in WW2 on the orginal xbox. i forgot the name. but they have a crapload to improve on before i even look at it.

Looks pretty. I never did play the first one, but I did like The Godfather, and if this plays anything like that gem, I’m in!
