yeah, that does sound strange, forcing a person to pretend he is a deformed demon, and then stumble around a tiny stage with ping pong balls strapped to his ass, just to simulate the movements of fictitious video game entity.

and i have to say, the enemy movements have been sensational so far. even in origins on the psp, there are some fucked up looking stumbling freaks making some absolutely stunning moves. they have always done well with enemies being slow and apparently unaware, and then POUNCING when you get to close. it is quick and painful and it is going to be very difficult to simulate by a person.

the first silent hill was one of the best games i have ever played. with multiple endings, and an absolutely disturbingly twisted plot, it was for sure the scariest and one of the most intense games for me. if you haven't ever seen it, check out president evil's plot guide to silent hill. he goes deep into the puzzle that is, that game. it turns out the american release of that game had many of the more twisted aspects removed for a more sensitive western market, and that is why the damn thing is so convoluted when you play through, but if you check the plot guide, it is a truly frightening situation that you have stumbled upon. anyway, it is a LONG read, but totally worth it.

except the footsteps often continue to sound off for several seconds after you stop, causing you to think there is someone chasing you when there isn't.

"The game will also follow the movie’s lead with regard to enemies and will use motion capture to create their animations."

WHOAH, ok I am one of the biggest Silent Hill fans ever. Played em' all, even got Origins upon its release, BUT the previous games did't use MOTION CAPTURE, and guess what? THEY WERE THE SHIT!!! I'm in Game Design and MOTION CAPTURE isnt always a good idea, A MORE NON HUMAN APROACH IS BETTER FOR THE DEMONS/MONSTERS, hence, NO MO-CAP!!!

@ carnaby

You do realize that when someone is murdered, they really do spazz all over like that. It is because the the nerve's in our body's just the same as when most people die they deficate on themselves, again due to the nerves being shorted, and the loss of control via the brain.

Cause it was scary at first. My friends told me to get the demo, they didn't say it would be a horror shooter. I thought it was just another shooter. But I'm over it now. I'm trying to beat it on Hard now.

The feet in bioshock tapping left and right should've been noted as a feature on the back of the box. Seriously that was the shit.

"When the player bumps into something, it will react accordingly and can even make noise to attract enemies"

You forgot to mention that when the player kills the enemies, they'll lie on the floor spazzing away with their hands flapping like crazy, just like every other game that uses the Havok engine.

The first time I played BioShock I almost pissed myself.

I've never tried Silent Hill, I've heard it scary, but this sounds like a good game.
