As shown in the four videos above, before the start of a match, as well as any time you spawn, there will be a great selection of character classes to pick from. Each one will pack a unique set of weapons and abilities; for example, the spy moves faster than the rest of the group. Should you desire to taunt your dead enemies, a couple of special animations will be on hand to show off your killing prowess. Throw in the fact that downloadable content for the game is planned to be released for free (don’t pull an Epic on us!), and we have another contender for the best multiplayer game of the year.
Half-Life 2: Orange Box is set to release on the 9th October for the Xbox 360 and PC, followed by the PS3 version a few weeks later.

Pull an Epic on us???
Epic is one of the best companies in the world when it comes to free content; that “saying” makes the opposite of sense.
Just recently with GOW Epic tried to give away free DLC for the Xbox 360.
Microsoft wouldn’t let them, so they had to make a deal with MS and National Geographic (I think it was) to do it anyway.
Even the later DLC that did cost money only did for a few months.
I am curious how Valve is going to tackle this free DLC thing… MS is apparently pretty adamant to have developers make their DLC cost something.
Yeah Epic is great for DLC… too bad their games are such unplayable garbage that it doesn’t matter much. Epic should just stick to making the Unreal engine and leave the actual game development to the real game developers.
Yea I guess that’s why Gears of War is the only game so far to surpass Halo 2 as the most played online game…

That remark sounds more like an opinion than fact, judging by what the general public / consumer is saying.
They made quite a few games, all of which are very playable in my opinion, most of which are lots of fun too.
(Well, if you’d try ZZT now, in 2007 and say it’s unplayable, I understand what you’re talking about, but that’s not exactly fair, since it’s ancient by now.)

Will be a ton better with a keyboard and mouse than an XBOX260 controller though.
Played Team Fortress on the PC for ages back in the Counter Strike and Half Life 1 days.
Exactly… the game looks fun but I don’t want to play vs mousers… I used to play Quake and there is no way anyone will ever aim as well with the controllers as the average mouser does.
Not unless the 360 version has some for of auto aim… but we all know thats just cheating.

there is melee, you can use the fire axe with the pyro, baseball bat with scout, shovel with soldier, ….
Gears is garbage…its one of the most random, glitchy, unbalanced multiplayers ever. Peopole play it becuase A: It looks good B: “Its Gears Dude” and C: What else is there to play for hours with your friends on a friday night? Call Of Duty 3 ? Psssh…
September 25th GEARS goes into a coma…October 9th there will be complications during surgery and November 5th the plug will finally be pulled.
