PES 2008 dated for Europe
Football fans have had the “PES 2008 coming October” message engraved in their minds for quite a while now. To their utmost content, the number 26 can now be etched in, as Konami Europe have officially announced that Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 will be arriving to retail stores across Europe on October 26th.
Featuring more licensed national and club teams than ever before, the seventh iteration in the long-running football series is set to retain the best football game crown. In addition to a number of gameplay improvements, the game will sport a refined AI system titled Team Vision which will force the player to think of new tactics over and over, and upgraded visuals that include refined facial animation and shirts creasing. Throw a full-fledged Edit mode into the mix, and football fans have a footy game coming up they can call home.
As is the case with millions of fans across the world, Konami Europe is pinning their hopes on PES 2008 as well:
We are extremely confident that PES 2008 will be welcomed as the greatest football game of all time.
Demand is massive for what is easily the best Pro Evolution Soccer title to date, and we anticipate record sales as we bring the series to PLAYSTATION®3 for the first time, and unleash stunning versions for all leading formats.
As for North America, don’t hold your breath for a Fall release because the game isn’t expected to hit stores until early next year.
Which one is going to be your next football game; PES 2008 or FIFA 08?
Thanks to Tucky and Jamzy No 2 for submitting.

A save reply option will make this game amazing. If it’s not in there they’ve missed an opportunity.
There is a replay save option, its clearly vissable in screenshots for both 360 and PSÂŁ
Send us a Demo of PES2008 and then we can make judgment.
FIFA08 is better than I thought it would be. Slower paced, feels like real football… INSANELY difficult, only scored once in a dozen games in the demo.
Yeah… Get us a PES 2008 demo up on Marketplace and then we shall decide.
So for anyone who knows their FIFA, where does semi-pro rank in the difficulties? Is there something a bit easier for us soccer/football n00bs in the full game? If so, this is almost a definite purchase.
Multiplayer online would be good, I know Fifa08 has it and I hope PES2008 will have it too…
When upto 5 players on one 360 can play online with other players.
The fifs demo is absolutely shocking!
Care to elaborate on that… Shocking how ?
sure:
Graphically: poor
Gameplay: sluggish, boring, repetative, same old fifa.
The game lacks the spark of pro evo, fifa is the couch potatoes football game whereas pro evo is a footballers football game. Id much rather play Pro evo 3 than buy FIFA 08 and im serious on that.
Cannot wait for pro evo 2008. Especially being a Newcastle fan and getting my team licensed finally! Cheers Mickey! Agree about FIFA demo, to me it seems the same as last years and feels sluggish.
Exactly, bring on the PES demo. I’ve never played one, and I’m going to buy one soccer game this year. If no demo comes out, I’m getting FIFA.
Although I would trust my unborn son to Konami.
Konami wont release a demo, there is no need, why waste all the time developing a demo for download (ok i know onw was on show at leipzig ) when they know that their fans will pick it up anyway, theres no need for a demo. Dont get me wrong id love one but dont hold your breath.
I find it too strange that no site that has tried a beta, has cared about telling about new online features. Its about the most important thing for me now. I have every PES games released. Lately only on Xbox/360 though.
There are so much potential for making the best online game ever. Online tournaments, leagues and multiplayer (2+) games. I fear this year might be the first I won’t get the game. I could not care less for “facial expression” on players. The gameplay is about perfect as it is. Its the online features that needs to be updated, and updated a lot!!.
Online multiplayer masterleague is what I need. not new commentators or better graphics. GET OUT THERE Konami, listen to the true fans of the game. I hope you are not pulling a fucking EA on us.
Thats because online wasnt included in the demo on show at Leipzig because the demo’s were showen on standalown machines with no LIVE connected. I cant see onlin being much different than PES6 tho.
It blows!
And why has no mag or site who interviewed Seabass asked why the online part sucks so much compared to the “competition”. Even the Achievements was probably some of the most borring ones yet. EA has a terrible game, but at least they have some clever minds thinkin up stuff like Challenges and so on. Its like Konami and Seabass won’t admit it. New graphics and animations won’t get my dollars, Seabass!
Which is my next football game? Being in N.America it seems fairly straight forward to me. FIFA. I haven’t been sold on the demo yet (I wasn’t sold on the 07 demo either but ended up loving it) but I’m not gonna wait until some undisclosed date in the new year to get my new soccer title.
Seriously… I’m not waiting until next year, I’ll be picking up FIFA at the same time I pick up Halo 3, on the 25th.
