Photo of current Origami leaked?
Ever since we heard about the Microsoft Origami Project possibly being capable of functioning as a secondary screen for the 360 we’ve been eager to hear more about this portable media center thingy. Recently started website OrigamiPortal.com is now showing a photo of the alleged final version of the product.
Is the picture reliable? We’ll cite the originating site on that aspect:
OrigamiPortal received this leaked photo from an online source today and we decided to share it with our visitors.
If this is the actual final product, it’s pretty slick. And if it’s not, it’s a very nice mockup.
Our verdict: even if it’s fake, it looks nice indeed. And in that case the full screen photo is a damn nice mockup even that took a huge amount of time to fake. But it looks like it could be true. Others have similar opinions, such as nexus at digg.com:
This is the real deal folks. Anyone saying fake hold on and let me explain; This is image is indeed a photochop, but its a photochop in the same way that all the 360 hardware is photochop’d the camera and headset for the 360 high res press photos were not photographs of the hardware, they were digital renderings made in some 3D software, this is the same thing. So while the headset for the 360 ended up looking EXACTLY THE SAME it was actually a 3D rendering of the real hardware and not a photograph. Let me tell you that this origami is the same, thats why a lot of people are crying fake because in its own way it actually is fake image but a real representation of the hardware.
Just a few more days before Microsoft is going to announce the thing anyway. Thanks to JAVANUT for the link!
Man, I hope this isn’t reliable. Looks out-of-date and bulky.
It’s not ment to be a handheld game system.
I think it looks nice, for a tablet.

looks as cool as my granny…. No way I wanna be seen on the street with this monster! PSP looks slick and “small”, this on the other hand …..
Looks heavy and clunky, and the interface layout certainly suggests it’s not going to have a lot of gaming uses.

Yeah It does look a bit heavy and oversized, hard to tell though from just an image with no references… Is interesting to note the user interface in the background, I think that is what sets this apart from other fake images… Looks like an all new microsoft OS running… similar to 360 somewhat…. I think the start bar at the top looks really thick though…
Anyone else notice that you can download an entire season of Law and Order for 29.99?? Does it contain WI-FI and G3 access??
