EA announces Dead Space

Whether you like it or not, Electronic Arts is the world’s leading third-party publisher and as such covers an expansive portfolio of genres, most notably sports. The publisher behemoth has shown great interest in many different types of games, such as first-person shooters, real-time strategy games, and racing titles just to name a few, but it has never really set foot in the horror genre. That’s about to change however inasmuch as EA has decided to test the waters by announcing a new IP called Dead Space.

Game Informer has spilled the beans on their online website, saying that the October issue of the magazine will contain an “explosive cover-story reveal” of EA’s new sci-fi horror game, Dead Space. Have a look at the front cover below:

Details on the game are so far nonexistent, save for the claim that Dead Space is expected to be “the most chilling sci-fi horror game the world has ever seen”, which in all honesty doesn’t say much. Since it’s EA that’s developing the game, you can bet your bottom dollar that it’s headed to multiple platforms.

We’ll have more on the game as it becomes available.

ok, to be more specific, i was talking about games that have titles that are 2 words, the first being “dead” and one word following that. i didnt think i would have to explain that one.

I’m actually tired when people advertise ‘the scariest, the funniest, the best, etc’ and then it totally tanks. It’s like an empty promise to me now.

So no, EA, it’s not gonna be the most chilling horror game the world has ever seen, not by a longshot.

Or System Shock.

haha, the guy on the cover looks like an “Action” Big Daddy.
I wonder why EA doesn’t just cash in on the BioShock popularity by making a new systemshock. They do own the license, afterall.
