New price cut on several XBLA games this Wednesday
Instead of filling us in on this week’s new Xbox Live Arcade releases, Microsoft has announced that a price drop is scheduled to go into effect for a handful of XBLA games beginning this Wednesday. It seems the Labor Day XBLA price reduction was a success after all.
Starting this Wednesday (12 a.m. GMT) and running through Tuesday the 2nd of October (11:59 p.m. GMT), three Xbox Live Arcade titles will be going down in price:
Bankshot Billiards 2 – 900 Microsoft Points (normally 1200 Microsoft Points)
“Bankshot Billiards 2″ improves upon the original with nine different game styles: classic 8-Ball, 9-Ball, Cutthroat, Euro 8-Ball, 14.1 Continuous, 3-Ball, Trick Shots, Time Trial, and Golf.Frogger – 300 Microsoft Points (normally 400 Microsoft Points)
With enhanced artwork building on the original title’s style, modernized sound and music, and all new play modes, you won’t want to miss out on “Frogger” on Xbox LIVE Arcade!Hardwood Spades – 300 Microsoft Points (normally 400 Microsoft Points)
The game where a trick IS a treat, “Hardwood Spades” is multiplayer card game that offers customizable backgrounds, card faces, card backs and tables.
Also coming out this Wednesday is the Bomberman Live! Bomb-Up Pack 2 which, as fans are no doubt aware, was supposed to become available two weeks ago.
With Halo 3 already waiting on store shelves to be snatched up by millions of frenzied gamers, it might be slightly risky for publishers to release any new games for the XBLA this week. As such, you’d be best advised to not hold your breath.
Wish we would see an across the board sale on retro arcade games. I’d pick up a few (Golden Axe, Galaga, etc.) if they were around 250-300 pts.
Not really much of a reduction. That’s still ridiculously way too much for Billiards.
it should be 400 at the most imo
Yeah even at 900 points thats exspensive for that Billiards game.
Totally not worth it… even at there sale price.
Fuck that, well worth it, great little game, in the top twenty for the trick shots too, whoop whoop!
Great - however none of these titles jump out at me and being good :S
I think %95 of the XBOX360 owners will be busy with Halo3 soon. (-:
I am sure that is why no new game is comming out they don’t want to be overshadow by the beast.
hey dude the % goes after the numbre not the other way around..!!;)
he also turns his smileys around
Hey dude,
…the ‘r’ goes after the ‘e’ in number…
Eat spam and prosper.
LOL oh what I spelled that backwards …. oh wait it doesnt mater…… LOL
Barely a price reduction. Lame
25% is “barely a price reduction”? Where do you normally shop at?
Already got bankshot billiards with a live subscription bundle… don’t care much for the retro games… spades might be worth picking up though… I kinda wanted it, this gives me a decent excuse. It would be better if it were half price.
Also, i’d like to see more of this in the future, along with price drops on both arcade games and DLC across the board. Just like how retail games drop in price over time, arcade games should also. Plus there is no reason the Perfect Dark map pack should still cost 500 points.
“Plus there is no reason the Perfect Dark map pack should still cost 500 points.”
wtf are u for real?
High on a hill,
There’s a lonely goat,
A lady, oh a lady, oh a la-dy-ho.
Question is, are you more interested in the goat or the lady-ho?
I like you.
The price for Frogger is still 299 points too much.
Prices are wrong, Bankshot is 600MSP, and both Frogger, and Spades are 200MSP
Somebody at N$ made a major mistake this morning now they are the prices listed here,i downloaded them this morning before i went to work and they were all half off.
Somebody at M$ made a major mistake this morning now they are the prices listed here,i downloaded them this morning before i went to work and they were all half off.
But since you done it twice doesn’t that mean you paid the full price then?
