New DMC 4 screens showcase Dante’s Gilgamesh weapon
Remember last week when we briefly mentioned that an all-new weapon is being added to Dante’s arsenal? Well, now Capcom has released a bunch of new Devil May Cry 4 screenshots featuring the Gilgamesh gauntlets and greaves in all their splendor. In addition, the screens also reveal which fighting styles will make a return from the prequel, Dante’s Awakening.
Devil May Cry 4 thrusts players into the boots of the newcomer Nero and, for the first time ever, snatches the protagonist role from the stalwart Dante. This way, Capcom hopes to make the game more inviting to those new to the franchise, while bringing back fans of old for some fresh demon beating. Due to Dante’s unexpected visit to a ceremony of the Order of the Sword which results in a massacre of most knights, Nero, also a member of the Order, sets on a mission to avenge the slaying of his brethren. Throughout his journey, the cynical warrior Nero will gain new powers for his mysterious “Devil Bringer” arm and uncover clues as to what made the legendary devil hunter go off course.
Besides showing off Dante’s new weapon, the new screenshots also lift the curtain on the four returning styles that Dante will be able to make use of in DMC 4: Sword Master, Gunslinger, Royal Guard, and Trickster.

This looks a lot like the stuff from God Hand made by Clover, the now closed subsidiary of Capcom. Glad to see they kept the talent from Clover, wonder what they can do with the Okami mechanic.
It’s not the same studio
. The guys working on DMC 4 are different from the ones that made Okami.
