Next week’s Arcade title: Puzzle Quest
Thanks to Puzzle Quest’s publisher D3 sending out a slightly premature press release, it seems that next week’s Arcade release will almost certainly be Puzzle Quest. This is great news for anyone who may have played it on the PSP, DS or PC, as it will now feature Achievements and be cheaper.
We are promised that the game will be hitting this coming Wednesday “if all goes well”, which doesn’t immediately fill you with confidence, so let’s hope it does indeed go well and we see the game on the 10th.
Puzzle Quest will be coming for 1200 MS Points, which is a damn good price for a port of a retail game. It works out exceptionally cheap for what you get, so no-one should complain about the price when it works out cheaper than other systems. Stock up on your Points and hope that it all goes well; it should be a good week for puzzle fans.

Puzzle Quest is far from shit. In fact, it is absolutely awesome.
The game forces you think every single move through, and what the consequences will be by doing something. Gamers can use magical spells (seen on the left and right sides of the screen) which will help them to win, but some spells may help you in one regard, but not in another.
Puzzle Quest sounds boring when you read about it, but play the PC demo or the XBLA demo this Wednesday and you’ll realise that the game is well worth 1200 MSP. And besides, you aren’t expected to buy anything else. 1200 MSP gets you the full game.
I thought that it is another “match 3″ crap, but tried the demo and played it for a few hours which doesn’t happen with me often. Will buy it for sure.

had this on my PSP and its amazing…its an RPG and a puzzle game mixed together and is definetly the best puzzle game to come out for XBLA yet
far from just another puzzle game. have this on my psp, got my mage to lvl 50 and beyond with some legendary equips. can’t wait to see what dlc comes out, must feed the need for more quests.

XBLA has a few intriguing games on the horizon: SWOS, War Worlds, Undertow, etc. But microsoft seems intent on never releasing any of them. They are falling so far behind their competitiors in the casual gaming realm that they might never recover. Hopefully their superior retail titles will keep them on top, but who knows.
