yeah, here's the link:

http://www.pixelgamers.com/xbox360/news/1000323/34/how-to-use-your-xbox-live-headset-on-your-xbox-360.html

i was thinking of modding the muter/volume switch with a female 2.5 mm plug so i can plug anything into it. with a short 2.5 mm extention cable, you could do a very similar chop n swap...

About the no mute/volume control, you can mod the thing that goes into the controller with the old headset plug so it works together :D

i got the jabra bt250 headset, and the a210 bluetooth adapter also from jabra.

i payed $69 for the set, but it looked like they had the a210 for $21.99 and they had "treo compatible" jabra headset (looks to be just like the bt250, but cheaper) for $29.99. the a210 adapter claims it works with any jabra headset, so presumably you could get out the door for 51.98, but i would make sure they are going to be compatible first. so again i got mine on ebay from edgecellular.com (username), and although something seemed amiss with the delivery at first, it turned out fine.

i have one additional note. if any of you are familiar with the xbox live wireless headset for the original xbox (from madcatz maybe?), you will remember that it had a slight ticking sound in the background. now that i have had a couple of minutes with these puppies, i have been hearing a very similar sound. it doesn't bother me at all, but i remember reading some rather bad reviews about the madcatz headset for only that reason, so if it is a concern, might want to steer clear, or at least read some of the old reviews on the xbox madcatz (i think) wireless controller (the symptom is exactly the same). again, i don't mind, but you might, and i also have to say it is still INFINITELY easier to hear my friends talk with this thing than any other headset. and the adapter is tiny, very easy to smoothly amalgamize that mofo with your controller using any number of techniques.

holy mother of god (i know i know, god has not mother),
i gotta say i just fired this bad boy up after only half the required charge time, and it outperformed any of the first or third party crap i have seen. i went through a similar phase when i was heavy into live around a year or two ago, and was never satisfied with the sound quality, or my friends were not satisfied with the voice quality.
well, i just checked my messages, and made some replies (which i listened to), and wow, that is all i can say. i can hear! and my voice sounds crisper and more clear than i thought possible. though fair warning, i do not believe there is a mute button at all. just volume control. i think the other button is merely an on off switch. i will let you know if i am mistaken about that.
     i will keep y'all informed.

ok, somehow i just received the kit, and looks looks absolutely stunning. the transmitter is much much smaller than i was anticipating, and will fit very well on the controller. haven't had a chance to charge it yet, but i will check back with y'all soon...

ok, so i was supposed to receive the package by 3 pm guaranteed, so when 6 rolled around i called the delivery service. they informed me that although the shipper had created a sticker and tracking number, they had NOT provided a package with it.
they had over 1000 positive reviews on ebay, and it sound like it could be an honest mistake, but i bought from edgecellular.com on ebay, and i thought i would let you all know what was up in case you were thinking of ordering. i will of course let you know as the story develops...

granted, it is not a huge concern, but i have had the headset ripped off me many times for various cord tangling reasons. also, i am hoping the quality of the headset itself is worth the admission price. i was tempted to go to bestbuy and get a high quality 2.5 mm jack wired headset, but for about the same price i am giving this a try. if the quality sucks, i lose, but if not, i see this as an all around winner until a licensed wireless headset comes out. i have not yet recieved it, but i will definitely keep y'all informed.

In my opinion, wireless headsets are not a main concern for me. I've rarely had problems with my old and new xbox's wired headset. Granted, they can get tangled, but nothing a quick fiddling with can not sort out.
While on headset subject, I feel MS need to work on the strength of there headsets, they snap when a breeze hits them!!

as you can see the jabra has volume control and mute capabilities, they are just less conveniently located (at the ear not the controller). but in a pinch, at least it is there. i paid $69.99 (merkin) for the set fyi (both the convertor and the headset), but it looks like you could get setup a little cheaper (around $50 plus shipping) on ebay...
