New XBLA game ‘Airburst’ in development

More Xbox Live Arcade news reaches us today, as Unscripted360 reveal the inside details on the upcoming game from Strange Flavour, who brought us Spyglass Board Games.

Airburst promises to be the best party game available on the service and is a very unique game.

Floating high above the ground on a platform made of balloons, you have to fend-off the deadly chainsaw-bladed burster ball, and redirect it toward your opponents’ balloons. Airburst has crazy power-ups, unique character powers, and a wealth of game types to reward strategy as well as reflexes.

The game does already have a sequel, being Airburst Extreme available on the Mac. We will be getting the prequel, suggesting that at a later date, the Extreme version will head our way too. The XBLA version is actually a combination of both the prequel and sequel found on the Mac.

Anyone played either version of the game on PC?

Looks wank.

Actually it was a Mac game ;)

Also, the XBLA version is a new game, based on Airburst *and* Airburst Extreme.

Hehe, I changed the post to reflect that, thanks.

i have a game for ya, its called DEEZ and you put DEEZ in your mouth. afterwards you know that DEEZ is the ONLY game that actually leaves a salty taste in your mouth when you play! better than some of the bs thats going to come out on XBLA

At the risk of sounding bitter (which I am), given that Strange Flavour (nor Freeverse) have yet to address the many problems with Spyglass Board Games (incorrect stalemates in Chess, Play 5 achievment glitched for many, etc) I will be avoiding this one on principal.
