Origami unveiled at last

Gizmodo is showing us leaked pictures of the final Microsoft Origami products, showed off by Intel at IDF.

Origami final

The Origami turns out to be a collection of 7-inch devices running Windows XP or any other x86-OS. Depending on the model you can get a full QWERTY keyboard apart from the tablet PC functions, and no word has been said about Xbox 360 accessory functionality. The price? “Below $1,000″ is all they say.

So it’s like an expensive PDA, or an expensive laptop? Doesn’t look very portable either.

That all looks very strange, I can’t understand why they’d have a product which doesn’t have one central identity.

For $1000 no way I’m going to buy this, I’ve already got a $1800 laptop which works just fine on the couch and is far more functional (and which runs any of the latest 3D games).

That’s pretty rediculous…

Yea like you said curry most people are in the same situation with a fine laptop already…and to spend around 1000 on something that does nearly the same it almsot rediculous for the normal person…but then again im sure many will get one lol

Plus the overall design is not very interesting. Just like you guys, my laptop is way more powerful and good looking. I just don’t get it, why would we want this (these)? I guess they will tell us more later, but I don’t see the appeal.
Maybe it dispenses cash or comes with a prostitute?!

Maybe old news but the device pictured on this site is actually the same item pictured in the bottom 2 panels of the image at the begining of this thread! However this item is from Intel not M$?!
WTF

ONI 23: check this article ;)

And Intel is responsible for the actual energy-efficient hardware etc. of the device, that’s why it’s shown at IDF
