OXM had a little chat with Ben Ward and Gareth Wilson from Bizarre Creations (known from the Project Gotham Racing series). They didn’t confirm that they were working on PGR4 but they did say “We’d be daft not to do another one though, wouldn’t we?”. Brain Warner then said;

“There’s a whole bunch of stuff that didn’t go into Gotham 3, just like there’s loads of stuff that doesn’t make it into every game. So there’s loads of things we’d like to get in. We’ve already done some experiments and things are looking good…”

Gareth Wilson continued;

“I think we’ll be able to push the graphics a lot harder. When we were working on Gotham 3 we kept finding ways to do things better once they’d already been done, but the producer was telling us that we couldn’t re-write the whole code two weeks before launch! But we can make it go a lot faster, and we can get more smoke in there. I always want more smoke.”
