Haze and Splinter Cell Conviction delayed

Ubisoft announced in their fiscal first-half financial report that not one, but two upcoming games have been delayed. What has been unfortunate enough to have been delayed? Futuristic first-person shooter Haze and strategical shooter Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Conviction. Find out when these titles are now scheduled to hit shelves after the jump.

IGN is reporting the bad news that both Haze and Splinter Cell Conviction have been delayed. Haze, which was first announced back in 2005 and confirmed to be a Playstation 3 exclusive for the Christmas season at E3 this year, has now been delayed until Q4 of fiscal 2007 - 2008. What this means is that the game won’t reach stores until sometime between January and March of next year.

As well as that, the next game in the tactical Splinter Cell series, known as Splinter Cell Conviction, won’t be released until sometime in fiscal 2008 - 2009. Unfortunately, this doesn’t begin until April 2008 so it is probably better not to get too hyped up about the game yet as it could be released any time between then and April 2009.

Is Haze not a complete PS3 Exclusive

Nope, just a timed exclusive. But God knows when it’ll come to the 360. No word on that yet.

Actually, Ubisoft and Free Radical anounced at the Leipzig games festival that they currently have no plans to release Haze on the PC or 360, they did originally plan to release it as an exclusive for ps3 in 2007 with the other’s coming at a later date. So ofiicially it’s not a timed exclusive but a 3rd party ps3 exclusive, they may release it in the future on PC and 360, but that will be a long way of.

are the ppl that made AC the same that are making the SC:conviction? if so then they can take their time. i loved SC:DA mp despite it laking a hell of a lot in gameplay, i loved the way the spies moved and tryin to sneak up on ppl to snap their necks was always axhilarating (sp?), so if they can add more ways to climb, run, kill, hold more weapons even though its not gonna be the same gameplay.
if they can use what good they did wit AC and improve conviction than they can take their time.
/end a whole lot of talkin that coulda been summed up wit 2 sentances.

Ubisoft Montreal, who made AC and SC 1&2, are making Conviction as aposed to Ubisoft Shanghai
who made Chaos Theory and DA.
Personally im please, I think montreal are far better dev’s than the Shanghai department

I’m pretty sure Montreal made Splinter Cell 1, 3 and are now making 5. Shanghai made the even numbered games, hence the larger emphasis on Multiplayer in those two games. The only multiplayer Montreal have done was just tweaking the muliplayer from 2 for use in 3.

I knew those games wouldn’t see the light of day this year. They been well off the radar.

Its best not to rush them out anyway, dont want to overload the PS3 with games before Xmas do we? lol
