Burnout Paradise crashes onto Xbox Live

As promised, moments ago the demo for Burnout Paradise arrived on Xbox Live. After downloading a mere 835.53MB, you’ll be able to drive through a small section of Paradise city yourself.

The demo is available almost everywhere, except Asia. It features one car and a few events that you can participate in, but unlike previous previous Burnout games, it’s now possible to roam free in the city and explore every corner and shortcut. Not only can you do these things on your own, it’s also possible to play online with friends. The full version of the game will be available worldwide in January 2008.

This should fill the void of a evening I had, lets hope the servers can handle the number of downloads.

I love the demo! Free-roaming in the city is simply awesome. I also like how they used road signs to show you the way when in a race instead of boring arrows.

Actually suprised how much i like this game, i thought the free roaming would ruin it but i love it.
Reminds me of NFS: Most Wanted a bit too

i had loads of fun with this demo. i couldn’t figure out how to setup a race online, but it was fun hustling up some of those challenges with a few people, and of course, competing for takedowns was excellent. everyone should check this demo out.

Unless you can customize controls on the final version, this game will be a major disappointment. What is this obsession with tying acceleration and brake controls to the triggers? I’m playing a racing game, not Crawl of Duty.

i totally agree. i drive with a wheel, and though that might not be the best match for burnout, if you could customize the controls, at least you could reach the hand brake and the boost on the flaps. it is kind of unbelievable to me how few of the driving games the wheel actually translates over to, considering how difficult it is to reach the face buttons while driving.
