New Ace Combat 6 DLC lifting off Wednesday
Growing tired of the air plane variants released last month already or haven’t purchased any new ones to ramp up your arsenal but are thinking of doing so soon? Either way, you’ll be happy to learn that Namco Bandai is to release yet another set of new aircraft for the Xbox 360 exclusive Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation this Wednesday.
As was the case with the previous downloadable content released for Ace Combat 6, this week’s batch of content will consist of six new jet fighters, with some of them sporting memorable designs from previous titles in the franchise. Read up on each one of them below:
- Mirage 2000-5 – Scarface Emblem: Bearing the emblem of the heroes of Ace Combat 2, this aircraft’s armor has been reinforced at the expense of stability.
- F-22A Raptor – Mobius: Emblazoned with the mark of the legendary Mobius Squadron from Ace Combat 4, this plane is all about offense; its unparalleled destructive abilities come at the expense of a limited damage threshold.
- F-15E Strike Eagle – Cipher: Designed as memorial to the hero of Ace Combat Zero, this variation of the F-15E Strike Eagle is home at the front of any battle with its enhanced weapons systems.
- F-15E Strike Eagle – Pixy: Featuring a unique design on its right wing, this plane is dedicated to Pixy, Cipher’s wingman from Ace Combat Zero, who nearly lost his wing in combat. Incredibly light, this plane has unparalleled stability.
- A-10A Thunderbolt – Xmas: The most festive aircraft ever to see combat duty, this plane is seemingly unaffected by gravity as it glides through the skies, unleashing hell on enemies while delivering messages of good cheer to allies.
- F-117A Night Hawk – The Idolmaster Yukiho: Combining cutting-edge flight technology with the style of the breakthrough Idolmaster series and a festive winter design, this plane boasts impressive maneuverability.
Details concerning the pricing of this new content weren’t provided but you can expect them to be in line with the previous offerings for the game. Alongside announcing said new content, Namco Bandai also revealed that a new Team Battle map is in the works and is set for release sometime in the coming weeks.

Still haven’t picked this one up. Do people still play this online?
Lots of DLC for this game. I’m hoping for the whole bundle for Christmas.
I quite liked the demo so I’ll probably buy this to tide me over xmas.
Yeah, even more crappy planes for a game that has completely misplaced longevity vs. aggrevation.
Ow well; hope to get 1000G before the end of the year and sell it right afterwards.
the game to me was good and looked great but didnt feel fast enough somehow, the planes seeemed to miss that sense of speed especially when ~100ft off the ground with afterburners burning
Look to the side; you will easily vomit after a few minutes.
wish they would give us more co-op maps instead of these 5.00 paint jobs.
Mobius!
