MADNESS: ‘300′ in HD for 100 Points is a lie
Anyone in the UK, France or Germany who was super-excited about downloading the film 300 in HD today for a reduced price of 100 MS Points (instead of the usual 540 MS Points) will be bitterly disappointed. The Standard Definition version is priced at 100 Points, with the HD version still remaining at 540 Points. Don’t worry though, the Xbox Live team are aware of it.
Digging deeper, Microsoft Representatives in the UK seem to be hinting that the cock up will result in an extension of the twenty four hour offer. Presumably they will try and get it sorted for tonight, so that Saturday becomes the day everyone madly downloads the film.
According to one poster over on the official Xbox forum in the UK:
Just phoned MS Support in the UK on 08005871102 and complained - they are experiencing lots of people calling, so I suggest you do too (it’s free!). They took my gamertag and are investigating. It sounded like they are going to extend the offer as they “cannot provide an immediate resolution”; maybe the guy that can change the prices is on holiday today Wink [;)]

Acey Bongos, the Community Manager for the UK side of things, meanwhile only tells us that Microsoft are investigating the issue:
I’d love to be reminding you that 300 is available in HD for only 100 MS Points from Video Store in the UK, France and Germany until midnight tonight, but unfortunately there’s an issue with the offer. It seems that the SD version has been reduced to 100 MS Points instead. We’re currently trying to get this sorted out, but in the meantime I’d like to apologise.
I’ll try to update you when I can. Thanks for your patience.

This is hugely disappointing for anyone that was excited about watching the film for a stupidly cheap price tonight. For some it would have been a chance to test the service out, but sadly that will have to be put on hold for a little while longer. We’ll let you know when it works properly.

Surely the changing of a price should be a simple process on their behalf?
Microsoft are obviously standing on a clifftop shouting “Give them NOTHING! But take from them EVERYTHING!”
It’s a very visually impressive film (particularly if you like men’s abs…) but it’s definitely not worth more than 100 points.
LOL considering i alone paid 12$ to go see it at the movies, which was no where near the quality of HD on my Plasma with my 7.1 surround sound system…. even 600 points seems reasonable… especially considering me/my fiancee/her mom/her sister/her boyfriend all watched it twice… seems reasonable as hel to me
Also you guys originally stated this offer was available to Canadians.. I tried finding confirmation for this awhile ago, and today after looking at the Video Store, the price has not been reduced at all. So I don’t think this is available to anyone outside of the European countries..
I looked this morning the US and it was still normal pricing as well. Booo!

Well I’m downloading the HD version for 100pts right now, so it must of been sorted Acey has gone on a bender down the pub though as our UK ilk is inclined too do on a Friday night.
Its up at 100points now, however shame it wont download and i cant now even sign in to live now

Live has been buggy for a week now. Last night we had 9 people in a 8 person lobby for 3 hours. Xbox.com shows people as joinable playing deathmatch on their dashboard. WTF?
