Sierra confirms Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust
He may be crude and crass and perhaps only appeal to gaming’s lowest common denominator, but his repeat performances would suggest there’s still a viable market for Leisure Suit Larry, which is a point strengthened by today’s news that Sierra Entertainment is bringing back “the lovable loser” for Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust.
Set for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Games for Windows and Mobile, this coming Fall, Box Office Bust is being billed as “an all-new side-splitting, pants-busting adventure” that will see Larry given unrestricted access to all the “glitz, glamour and gorgeous women of Tinseltown.”

Sounding much like a low-brow version of Lionhead’s The Movies, the game promises “a rollicking, innuendo-laden lampoon of Hollywood,” which will deliver open-ended gameplay including plenty of exploration, racing, puzzle solving, and platform action. Its all-new Directors Game will also allow players to craft their own personal “Larry Feature.”
Developed by Team 17 (Worms), Box Office Bust will feature plenty of “sophomoric comedy” and “bombshell babes,” delivered courtesy of the pen of Allen Covert (Happy Madison Productions), and a voice cast of notable Hollywood actors including the likes of Jay Mohr (Last Comic Standing), Shannon Elizabeth (American Pie), and Peter Graves (Mission Impossible). Josh Keaton (The Spectacular Spider-Man) will provide the voice of Larry Loveage.
“Leisure Suit Larry is an entertaining adventure that places gamers in the middle of Hollywood’s tabloid-filled mayhem to create a fun gaming experience,” outlined Al Simone, senior VP of Global Marketing for Sierra Entertainment. “The collaborative efforts of Allen Covert and cast make this the most amusing and immersive Leisure Suit Larry video game yet.”
Naturally, given its ‘close-to-the-knuckle’ content, Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust will arrive at retail with a positively pulsating ‘M for Mature’ rating.
A teaser trailer for Box Office Bust will be unveiled on Spike TV’s ‘GameTrailers TV’ on Friday, February 15.
