Koei to test distribution through Xbox Live Marketplace

The rate at which Koei releases Dynasty Warriors games and expansion packs often gets a little too much, but it looks like they might be trying something a little different next time around. For the upcoming release of Sengoku Musou 2: Moushouden (or Samurai Warriors 2: Xtreme Legends) in Japan, Koei will be offering the game for sale exclusively over the Xbox Live Marketplace for the sum of 2400 Microsoft Points.

Typically Warriors games have two expansion packs - Xtreme Legends and Empires. Xtreme Legends usually offers an array of new warriors, weapons and missions, while Empires is a Risk style strategy game with battles fought in real time using the Dynasty Warriors style of play.

The North American arm of Koei has not made a decision yet concerning the potential digital distribution of the game, but rest assured, we’ll let you know when they do.

Ho hum. What I’m really want is a strategy game with offline multiplayer. They did it with Romance of the Three Kingdoms, why not do it again?

A big problem (I call it that, but I suppose it depends) would be that the download would take up a lot of precious hard drive space.

yawn

Yawn?
Please elaborate.

Xboxic, so “the North American arm of Koei” hasn’t made up its mind quite yet? Then please tell us about what “the European arm” is up to? Surely Xboxic didn’t forget about that?

Let’s face it, North America always comes before Europe. Surely you didn’t forget about that little detail, did you? ;)
