New Star Wars: The Force Unleashed tech video

We’ve talked about the impressive technologies being incorporated into the upcoming Lucas Arts’ Star Wars game, The Force Unleashed, such as the Digital Molecular Matter and euphoria, which are bound to take the term “next-gen” beyond stunning visual fidelity. Don’t believe us? See it for yourselves after the jump.

It’s refreshing to see developers looking for ways of using up all that power offered up by the next-gen hardware not just to improve the visuals, but to introduce elements never before seen in videogames as well. Seeing a helpless enemy clutch a nearby object before meeting his maker or, better, taking one of his buddies with him is awe-inspiring, to say the least.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is set to arrive on the Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, NDS, and Wii this Summer.

What do you all think?

This game is fuckin’ amazing :D

This looks awesome … I just hope gameplay doesn’t suffer because of the time they spent on how a storm trooper hold onto a crate … Remember assassin’s creed?

btw, did you see august bot’s glorious return? I missed him …

Looks great, but I hope the AI isn’t too ragdoll-y… randomly clinging to stuff when they shouldn’t, or something.

One question: why is Darth Vader’s secret apprentice killing storm troopers?

I wondered the same … and love it. They talked about someone bringing balance to the force … maybe he’s trying to overthrow the empire after vader’s death.

Ah, no wonder they had to push the game back. It takes a heavy amount of programming to use one third-party engine, let alone 3. As long as the designers are as dedicated to detail as they seem to be in the feature, this game should be very good.

And I’m pretty sure he’s killing storm troopers because he doesn’t exist, and should his missions require him to be on the Empire’s soil he would have to break in. Perhaps Vader wants him to assassinate a high-ranking official in the Empire who is selling secrets and just wants to take out the middle-man?

I hope this doesn’t turn out to be another Assassins Creed.

Umm…okay then. I’ll go back to actually making a comment about this game instead of random wittisism on my console of choice.

Honestly, I’m truly digging this title’s progression. The story seems top-notch, especially with Lucas assisting first hand on the project developments. It’s freaking beautiful as well! A definite show of what this days’ technology can do, and I’m sure will raise the bar as far as what to expect in up-coming games for the future.

Cheers mates!

LoL you get all this from a trailer.

Nope…previous research.

My only concern is that at the minute your limited to four force powers, push, repel, grip, and lightning. There’s only so many combinations possible there.

Actually it’s 1 third-party engine, euphoria and dmm are in house developments, which should make it easier.

And yes I really want to waste 400 quid on a self confessed “media centre”. I’ll stick with the games console for now thanks…

This guy doesn’t even need a lightsaber, with his power, he could own anyone else in the SW universe, even vader.

when it gets to the point where some loser has to make multiple accounts and have a conversation with himself….All just to make the pos3 look good?…Seek help little one. Seek help.
