Beautiful Katamari demo rolls onto XBLM in EU
It took them nearly half a year, but Namco Bandai has finally released the Beautiful Katamari demo that squeezed the masses of North America back in August 2007 on the Xbox Live Marketplace in Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The fact that the game is planned for release here in late February might have had something to do with the long delay.

Many have already played the demo or the full version, but for those who haven’t, post your impressions below.

I’m not planning on playing the demo… I may be wrong about this but rolling a ball doesn’t seem very interesting to me.
You may indeed be wrong as you’ve not tried the demo. That’s why it’s there and thats why it’s free.
Who knows?
Can I fit a ‘Red Dot Scope’ on the rolly thing?
Oh my COD!
lol
The controls are utter mince. I tried the demo from the US side some time again. It’s terrible. If the controls worked like Marble Blast Ultra, then I would almost certainly get it for my kids, but the controls are extremely unintuitive. Poor, poor design choice. Ka-ching! No Sale.
yep, I agree with Manodestra, the controls are pants!
Controls work fine you just have to get used to the rolling technique. If its rolling really slowly or not turning very fast its because your not playing it very well. That wasnt ment to be insulting but stick at it a bit longer and it really does start picking up once you get the nack.
Wouldn’t you agree, though, that the majority of people who would play this would be on the younger side (under 10)? Since that is most likely the case, it would probably be wise to make the controls easy/intuitive for this audience, which is definitely not the case.
They shouldn’t be, considering the game wasn’t specifically designed for children. The majority of people who bought it for the Playstation were in their teens and above.
Note: look at the sense of humor in the game and you’ll understand why.
I played the demo and I just don’t get what’s fun abut this game.
Played through it when it came out in the US. If you mastered the other 2 console games, there isn’t a large amount of new content.
no body count = not interested
Um, why can’t I see this anywhere on the marketplace?
Buy on day one. Buy on day damn one. Cant wait.
Its a different market over here and i think your right, it probably will appeal to alot of 10 and unders but it was made as a Japanese title originally which kind of filtered over here so its still made for it original target audience they have just let those of us who are interested in playing super happy games pick it up without the need of importing. I dont think they really care either way whether it sells tons over in Europe and the States.
