Space Chimps crash lands onto Xbox 360

We don’t know about you, but we’ve often wondered what would make the perfect videogaming formula. It might come as a surprise, but mixing a trio of chimpanzees, outer space and a movie tie-in isn’t always what we had in mind. Still, Brash Entertainment reckons they’re onto something with Space Chimps. We know you’re going to hold back on any pre-conceived preconceptions until we fill you in on the latest details.

Space Chimps follows the adventures of a cheeky circus chimp named Ham, who turns out to be the first primate to be sent into space as a publicity stunt to land on and explore a strange, new planet. Unfortunately the mission doesn’t go quite to plan when Ham’s spacecraft crash lands to leave himself and his crew (fellow chimps Titan and Luna) in a brave new world, ruled by an evil king. Fans of the film can expand their experience with the game, which will offer players a unique storyline that chronicles the quest of Ham and co. as they overcome the perils of an alien planet in search of Earth’s lost Infinity Space Probe.

“The Space Chimps movie introduces a loveable cast of characters that fans will be quite fond of,” explained Mitch Davis, co-founder, chairman and CEO of Brash Entertainment.,“We’ve collaborated with Vanguard to create a game that incorporates the characters and world of the movie while building a unique storyline with new characters, giving fans the opportunity to be able live in the ‘Space Chimps’ world a little longer.”

“When looking for a partner to translate Space Chimps into a game, we knew Brash Entertainment would be a perfect fit for what we were looking for,” said Amorette Jones, EVP Worldwide Marketing for Starz Media. “They’ve taken the world we’ve created and brought it to life in a game that will be fun and light-hearted—in keeping with the spirit of the movie.”

“We’re excited about the upcoming release of Space Chimps, and equally happy that Brash is the company that produces the first ever game based on a Vanguard project,” said Williams, who is also chief executive of Vanguard Animation. “We know this game will enable fans to extend the Space Chimps experience.”

Game Features

  • Alternate between playing Ham and Luna exchanging humorous banter between the two acrobatic chimps.
    13 levels including 3 bosses

So… Space Chimps for the Microsoft Xbox 360 - it’ll arrive at the same time as the movie’s release this coming July 18. Are you ready for their monkey business? We can’t wait. Really.

Sounds like a fun platformer BUT a game tied in to a movie rarely results in a proper game.

Latest bleghs were Beowulf, Golden Compass, Transformers and TNMT ..you get the picture. Wait for a review.
